I just bought the MSI MAG401QR 40inch IPS monitor for my second monitor. My main monitor is a LG C2 48in jobby. It does the job!

Just to be on the safe side, if you're curious what most US folks would pay when they post the price of something, just add 10% and that'll cover the taxes for majority of places. Tax rates vary by state and even city. Sales tax in Minneapolis is over 9% whereas you hit up an outlying city next to Minneapolis and the tax rate is closer to 7.5%.

Meanwhile, EU sales tax varies by country between 17%-27% (except for Lichtenstein & Switzerland, where it's around 8%)
It's also legally required to be in the sticker price, so what we see is what we pay, no Bistromathics at the checkout!

There are states in the US that do not have local sales tax...MA, my state is one of them. The sales tax is state wide. Not local per city.

Sales tax is often waived for online retailers depending on the location of both the seller and buyer, as it is only states and cities/counties collecting sales tax. So sticker price is the base price and tax is calculated at checkout.

In my state MA online sales tax is not waived. It is collected at 6.25%, the rate of it's statewide sales tax. Not sure about other states.

How do taxes work for online sales?

Whether the order is placed over the Internet or through traditional means, if a company has nexus in the state to which the product is being shipped, sales tax should be billed, collected, and remitted to the state of the ship to address.

I know that MN, regardless of what state your purchase is made from (or even if out of state) or if the purchase is even digital (such as an online game sale) any site that sells to you in MN must include sales tax. I don't recall if it was a state law or federal law (without looking it up) a handful of years ago that made this a legal requirement.

Otherwise, before that, the only time you were billed sales tax for online purchases was if the business you were buying from had a physical presence in the state you lived in.

Not in the EU. Sales tax applies to online purchases and even digital goods.

It's a state law. Several states have passed that law now.

Yes, I was pointing out why sales tax isn't part of the sticker price in the USA.

Bought a pair of used 16GB Kingston Fury Beast DDR4 3600Mhz RAM, I ran a Windows memory test on it and it's fine, putting aside my regular pair of Corsair Vengeance 16GB RAM sticks as reserve while I continue to use this Kingston Fury Beast in main rig. The Corsair RAM will be my standby or reserve RAM sticks for either of my rigs should the present RAM sticks in 'em somehow go bad. As I'd said, perhaps in other threads, I don't plan on upgrading my gaming rigs anymore seeing the state of gaming is headed, especially AAA titles.

So that's why it's sold out when I looked! ;)

But, yep, same WD Blue 8TB here. The newer one with 256MB cache. Burning it in with badblocks right now. Would still take...4 days, with the 4 complete W/R cycles.

Gonna RMA it if anything turns up on SMART afterwards, though I wonder whether it would be accepted in that case, or would it count as "abnormal use" or some such. Hopefully I won't have to find out.

well my ram has arrived…. It’s 2x32gb kit 3200mhz cl16 sodimm… I didn’t want to buy this kit I wanted to grab the 16x2 ones last year… being indecisive I left it for too long and only 64 ones left… that’ll teach me a lesson not to wait for these things…

Wanted a bigger tablet, also bought a microSD card to go with it, so I got an Oppo Pad Neo (also bought a TG SP as a couple of transparent cases as well). Oh yeah, the Pad Neo case came with the tablet....

Bought a 24.576MHz 0.1ppm crystal oscillator for my X-Fi. I been longing to do this only recently I can find it

Could been better, but as long as it work it work lol.

I need to use my headphone Sennheiser HD555 for critical listening as my new house have bad acoustic. Thought the bass is loose on it before but this one transform it to tight precise bass, in fact everything sounds precise and well layered and not muddy now. It's just amazing what one single crystal could do! The opamp that I use is LME49720HA on I/V and LT1028 on buffer stage.

I paid that 3080 which I got from my friend earlier. Still owe him for that 16GB RAM kit but I'll pay it the next time I get cash.

AFAIK it was a reasonable price as I paid 450EUR with a fc waterblock. ASUS TUF OC 10GB model.

I like Audigy2 ZS the most, but as that's the best X-Fi model, did that mod make it better? Haven't heard a X-Fi Ti HD though myself

The board was almost free 20 ish usd or else I would have picked something else.... Should be a decent gaming system to replace my outdated one.

Also will probably replace the ram with trident Z royal when it's not stupidly priced.

How'd you get the MB for that price?
I won't be specific lol but 300 was comped only downside it had to be a Gigabyte motherboard.... This was the closest to that price I didn't hate.
