I was wondering how my Radeon 780m gets 5 and change fps in Steel Nomad when it's less powerful all over than the 6500 XT.

Ah, except for one thing. Steel Nomad requires 6GB VRAM. You have 4GB and I have 8 (shared, user-selectable in BIOS).

It's nice having the option to download more VRAM!

Wow, that's really good! I guess not having to swap between the dedicated memory and system RAM via a measly x4 lane bus is the main advantage of an iGPU.

As long as you don't exceed your 4GB VRAM limit, your card should be 50% faster or more as most benchmarks put this 780m about 20-25% slower than a Radeon 6400 (which I used to have, so the tests are under the same conditions). But when exceeding 4GB, my slower but more plentiful VRAM will mean no additional slowdowns. And amazingly, you can allocate up to 16GB for VRAM in this thing! 8 is just fine for me and I'll keep the 24GB leftover for the CPU...

Every rank is measured against equal CPU+GPU combo. Yes, there's memory and cooling to make a difference, but if I went from Good to Legendary with my setup on Steel Nomad with some clicks, time is the only real expenditure.

As expected, I went from 'Legendary' on my first run last week to 'Excellent' this evening. It also seems to validate the scores now and I'm fine with it.

Once you realize that it no longer matters. Enjoy playing a real game.

It's just for the fun of benching and confirmation your system is performing as intended, indeed no added value to the gaming experience but it can give some info on the different settings when tweaking. So, even if it is only marginal, it still matters .

But I do agree with you that for some ubiquitous hormones driven ego's it counts as: Mine is bigger than yours , so you are a loser. Yup, pathetic but it's the world we live in and I couldn't care less about those narrow minded opinions .

If my chip is Excellent, than excellent it is, the same would go for the rating Good, I would only be disappointed if it is below average and use the benchmark programs to see if something is wrong.

So basicly what I want to say is that benchmark programs do have added value in the perspective of system/component performance information.

Since it was a new released benchmark, just wait a few months for more scores coming in and the harder it gets to get a Legacy score again......

Yup I know and mentioned it in my first post.
This bench (as data comes in), just like everything else needs to mature to increase in value (Damn, why does this remind my of a bottle of 15 year old rum I bought in Havana once. Sorry for all the Whiskey lovers out there, but that rum was the nectar of the gods )

But going off topic, let's see some more Legendary results here.
