The Aune AR5000 is an open-back dynamic driver set of headphones that looks and feels more premium than it costs. It goes for a warm, relaxed tuning that will appeal to many people, but has compromises to be aware of. We pair it with the Aune S17 Pro Class-A headphone amplifier that offers up to 7.5 W per channel and makes for a smooth sound presentation.

When you do your objective listening, do you ever listen to any 8-bit (type) video game music?

Surprisingly affordable for an Aune product, headphones that is, I genuinely expected a 500 tag at a minimum.
Still, I am unsure of how good of a choice these are. As you mentioned, warm open dynamics are not THAT rare and I really think that those who want that specific niche sound would be better served by the Sivga models. And for anyone else in this range - the Para is that way and the FT5 go on sale regularly.

Yeah of course, Contra Hard Corps OST is near the top of my listening. AoE:2 sound track too, but it's less 8-bit. I also rotate between some others.

Moondrop PARA is probably too heavy for a lot of people over time. The AR5000 definitely wins in the comfort department. Tonally it's a preference as you mentioned.

I mean, there are mad lads who daily LCD-Xs and say it’s fine, though I do agree, I find that anything above 250-ish grams will inevitably make itself known. Part of the reason that, sound and tonality aside, Senns 500 lineup is my daily choice.

AoE 2 OST is a classic, definitely a worthy listen, but I actually have a sweet spot for the OG AoE 1 soundtrack. Not the remastered version, the original. I find it’s actually great for testing the tonality and detail in cans and speakers, there is surprisingly a lot going on in the mix.
But, as long as we are mentioning, my three staples nowadays (from VG music) are Over Drive (Super Arrange Version) from Ys Origin, This Silence is Mine from Drakengard 3 and, honestly, the entirety (all four parts) of EXEC_over.METHOD_SUBLIMATION from Ar Tonelico. I find that if a transducer sounds like shit on one of those it will be shit in other things by default.

Yeah, yeah, technically this was a bit off topic, but at least I think it was an interesting tangent.

On this off topic tangent... I've got some of that on my system. It does sound better.
Not off topic, I find some headphones have troubles with triangle/square wave stuff in 8-bit sound.

@VSG Do you know of headphones with all 3 of AUX/3.5mm, BT, and USB-C (simultaneous audio and charging)

Not aware of any that offer simultaneous audio and charging tbh.
