24h2 update:
When i remove the microcode update dll, it goes to an endless recovery loop. It wont repair itself. (deleted mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll)

The workaround is rename mcupdate_AuthenticAMD.dll to mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll, mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll to mcupdate_AuthenticAMD.dll. So swap the files.
Somehow the file protection only care about the file name, not its contents.

And what result are you trying to produce?

It's a lot like having hibernate turned on that I think most people turned off to save disk space because it eats up a ton of storage if you have a lot of system memory.
i don't care about space i use hibernation and i have 24 gb ram in my laptop, just hibernation is convenient way, in case of running on battery it won't use battery vs sleep

Sleep and Hibernation are relics of a time long gone when Windows ran on slow hard drives. Windows startup and shutdown are so fast with modern SSD's that those functions are not needed.

My PC is an LGA1700 machine with non-noname DDR4 and it spouts countless RAM errors when I run W11.

My PC is a LGA1700 too, with team group DDR4 B die, which has worked fine in both 10 and 11 at 4000c16 with no problems. Tbh i don't really mind either win 10 or 11. I am on 10 atm though and cba to do a full reinstall to 11 as i know doing the upgreade from 10-11 via win updates is dubious.

What's the difference twixt Iot 23H2 and Iot LTSC 24H2?

Why im removing the microcode?
The main Rig:
to remove the meltdown/spectre patch (performance impact minimal but still something)
make my system stable with ECC REG memory, with the new code i got a few bsod (because i use a very old microcode in bios and i think the new os patch can't work with that)

On my other PC:
to remove the meltdown/spectre patch (performance impact is greater on slower intel cpu-s)
Xeon v3 uses an old microcode to hack the all core turbo (+bios uefi driver), for stability I removed the os microcode patch too.
Not using it but i think the TSX instructions are disabled in the new code. (only ps emulator using it)

So the reason is better oc stability and extra performance at the cost of lower security.

You realize there are better ways of doing that right?

Thanks but that only solve the spectre meltdown patch problem, i still need to delete the microcodes for stability.

There is, occasionally, reason to save current state of open apps vs saving work and shutting down.

Sleep is obsolete, I agree, but with modern storage so cheap, hiberfile isn't that big of a deal. I don't use it regularly but there is advantages.

My W10 finally couldn't handle my "experiments" and now I'm about to test if W11 24H2 will run any better. Don't see me posting anything else here this month = it definitely runs stable enough.

Main troubles with 22H2 and 23H2:

• RAM instability.
• M$ Paint instability.
• Completely incorrect CPU usage information.

I'm sorry, what?
It was virtually impossible to add text to images. It just lived its own life and shut the fields down. It was intermittent and only happened in M$ Paint. 3rd party software worked just fine.

After ~6 hours of testing, I am fairly sure 24H2 works fine on my PC. No effin clue whatsoever as to why it does and older versions didn't.

What I hate more is the fact they made a flashbang for the welcoming screen. I had to reinstall the OS in the dark (nights exist, surprise!) and my eyes still hurt after seeing this utterly bright optical migraine.

These mfs who only consider 9 to 5 a valid working schedule (or whatever the hell made them make it so bright) must die the most painful death possible, certainly so.

What i hate the most of all, is that copy pasting a file of the same name instead sending the replaced file to bin it eradicates it for good !

I'd like to know the tweak that changes this behavior !

Pretty sure it has had that since XP if not even further back?

It's buried in the old Control Panel applet for Explorer, tho.
