Mine was like 14-15c I think.. with the fans on auto. I can see 9c delta if I run them at 2300

Max is like 3K.. savage little thing.

Muh Super doesn't seem to have a temp issue that I am aware of stock paste and thermal pads.

3ghz no problem. No adjustments needed.

I meant baby because it is so small compared to the rest of the stack

Only 1 bios, pretty stripped down card.. but it was cheap..

guys what is that white thermal compound used in laptops to cool the vrms and such... its not like the grey thermal compound almost like silicone...
any ideas where i can read up more info on it?

That's because it very likely is silicone based. There's nothing wrong with that either. If that's what was installed, leave it there unless you need to take things apart.

Ah, ok. Silicone Thermal pastes are very good, though not the elite best like purpose formulated TIMs for CPUs, GPUs and chipsets. Silicone paste will perform within 4 or 5% of most of the brands we have discussed in this thread.
For example:

This stuff performs on par with most good TIMs, will last a VERY long time(because it's silicone based), is a perfect electrical insulator(so if you get it all over the place it will not short anything out) and is inexpensive. For VRM cooling, it's actually really good as it has heat-wicking properties other TIMs do not, so if you get any down inbetween the VRMs, it's going to provide a cooling effect all the way down to the PCB.

Well, I am still not going back to Thermal Grizzly...especially now, as I have used data from here & from Igor's lab to report the Thermal Grizzly to EU state authorities, EC & EU parliament members - for frauding of consumers of up to 12,5W/mK values on the product.

You do, whatever you want! But I am returning to pastes which I have ordered. Maybe even getting Dow chemicals ones...

Just happened upon the Newegg receipt for my last paste purchase... (prolimatech pk3 6g and mx-4 20g) all the way back in 2019! PK3 is still half full and the MX-4 is still unopened. My little drawer of paste is nearly full of random pastes. NTH1 & 2, 50 or 60 TF7 tubes, kidding but not really (with their silly 1/2 a gram or so in giant tubes), MX-4, 5 & 6 all 6g, Thermal Grizzly something. I say it's time to start throwing some away. But but most are still brand spankin new! What's a guy to do? I only use PK3 for my rigs and MX-4 for client rigs(those are on hold indefinitely)why keep the rest? What say you fellow tim junkies?

Actually @lexluthermiester and I already tested a bunch of tim a while back and posted the results in another thread that was merged into this thread. Unfortunately, I have no idea where in this monster of a thread it ended up

I'll hook you up if you need some. The TF7 is mostly dried up and useless but everything else looks to be in good shape. I'll inventory what I have if you're serious.

Ideally no unless the tube has been exposed to air or something has gone terribly wrong with the batch from factory. Thermalright also bundles TF7 with a lot of their coolers and I dont know if Thermalright is bundling less shelf stable TF7 with their coolers compared to their standalone product .

I’ve almost never seen a website with more vague information regarding their product.
Sorry but I would rather piss on my processor than risk putting that stuff on it.

They have literally no information or tests regarding their product on the website.
Only some ridiculously corny video with some big dude, throwing the thermal paste on the table like as if he’s strong, so it’s strong.

Unless dude is infinitely increasing his density like a tiny black hole and squishing himself under my water block, I’m pretty sure he has nothing to do with the thermal effectiveness of his cooling products. Lol.

I don’t get why people are so hesitant to try liquid metal, I love this stuff. Sure it takes a little bit of practice using it but once you get the hang of it, the stuff is awesome. I won’t use anything else. I mean, unless something better comes along.

Most won't in my experience. I've got tubes that are approaching 10yo and they are still gtg, no separation or drying out. I'm assuming the problem with the TF7 I have is they put a small amount (1/2 to 1 gram) in a 4 to 6 gram tube. Which likely allows air to come in contact with the paste. That and there's no telling how old it was to begin with prior to having been packaged up with the heatsinks it came with. There are still a few of my tubes that are usable, but being that I already have a ton of other stuff it's best that I just toss them all rather than potentially waste time. Which is a shame because TF7 is good stuff.

Depends how long its been sitting in the draw for sometimes leaving it for too long can possibly lead to the mixture starting to separate. Most pastes are made with silicone oil (or some sort of oil) that binds everything together. Doesnt happen often but it has and can happen. It can also happen if the batch isnt made correctly. Remember Arctic MX-5 and the issues with it? Exactly like MX-5 except that started separating pretty quickly, much quicker than any thermal paste should.
