You said randomly, so what does it do on the vga led? Ie, does it ever boot?

What are you doing to resolve it?

What were you doing before it happens?
when it gets stuck in the vga light it just stays there , have to reset the system then it posts

it doesn´t post and just gets a black screen

i´ve been using this keyboard , mouse , dongle , cpu and ram for a long time and it always worked

it is hard to tell since when the pc boots , everything is fine , no instability

Irrelevant, could just take the plunge and sing the song because whatever.

So this is from a off state? Not restarting or sleep?

i highly doubt it is the cpu and ram , the only thing that is left

So this is from a off state? Not restarting or sleep?
yes , but that would point to a PSU problem which i recently swapped as well ( got a core reactor 650w)

my bios is set to supply power to usb ports when the pc is off , could it cause some glitch to the dongles and post maybe?

Well it only happens once in a while and restarting make its work again. You says everything is stable once it boots. Id say ignore it and move on.

All the times I've had that VGA light it's either because I forgot to plug something in, or the motherboard was upset at the video card.

For example, I had a RX 5800XT that did the same thing. Turned out when I finally checked GPUz, it was only running in 8x. 16x when enforced would always fail to boot.

I've had dead GPUs with the light on, but that was easy solve.

And you know that because? Highly doubt what? Unless you have some spares it doesn't matter.

Again, it's the PSU or worst case the CPU.

i just think it doesn´t make sense , the motherboard light would be stuck at cpu , dram if it were the issue

No there are other variables that have been mentioned to you in this thread multiple times that you keep ignorning, but please replace CPU and RAM throwing more money at a problem you want to go away, I'll sit and wait....

I wonder if you have a mother board standoff installed in the chassis that is causing your issue and shorting out something that is causing the POST issue. Or one of the tabs in the IO sheild is shorting to one of the connectors, like USB.

Doesn't matter, he's gonna buy a new CPU and RAM, should solve that issue

I will test and report because the issue is so hard to reproduce

i think the issue lies at the vga maybe ( not a problem with the card ) but it could point the cables being bad

i have a very old 90 degrees adapter ( my dp cable wasn´t 90 at the time )

is there a good model of 90 degrees dp cable that i can get ?

so far removed the bluetooth dongle and booting times seemed a bit faster than before but too early to say

thanks

Debugs lights rarely lie.
I should have been more clear. I said above, "LED indicators only provide clues and they are not always right." I still say they only provide clues but I should have then said they don't always indicate the actual cause of the problem.

For example, while they may report a problem with the GPU, it could be power to the GPU is the problem. Or they may report a RAM problem, but it could be a bad socket. So again, they provide clues, but may not provide all the information needed to pinpoint the actual fault.

You sure it's not training? Even changes to power plans, power curves etc can trigger retraining.

As crazy as it would sound, detach that HDD and see what's happening without it. Been there, done that, no joking.
This is definitely worth checking.

I've had failed Post from a bad SATA cable too. Those flatcables aren't very sturdy. Just swapping a different SATA cable to feed your OS disk drive with is an easy thing to check.

i´m not ignoring ,i´ve just listed the major components

i will start with the usb bluetooth dongle
Start with minimum setup. Connect a mouse and keyboard by USB 2.0 slots in the top of the rear IO shield and nothing else.

Then replace/add one device at a time.

This is very true. VGA light doesn't mean bad GPU, just means it stopped on that step for whatever reason. That's what I mean by it doesn't lie. That is the stopping point on the boot sequence.

Isn't it going to try to boot after VGA?

That would point to HDD

It would got to BIOS if no HDD is detected. Or give you that message saying no boot drive. But the ops says it's just a black screen with the light.
