Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Is Imminent

Microsoft has signed off on Visual Studio 2008 and is expected to release it early next week-on November 19th. Earlier this month Microsoft committed to ship Visual Studio 2008, formerly code-named Orcas, by the end of November. The company is making good on that commitment and is expected to have Visual Studio RTM (release to manufacturing) on Nov. 19, according to sources and Microsoft blogs. The tool-set will be available on the MSDN (Microsoft Developer Network). "Visual Studio 2008 is anticipated out early next week, with availability for subscribers," the MSDN blog said in a late-night post on Nov. 16. Visual Studio 2008 and the .Net Framework 3.5 enable developers at all levels to rapidly create connected applications for Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, the 2007 Microsoft Office system, mobile devices and the Web. Microsoft's Visual Studio Team System is also expected to ship by the end of November.

I guess hes just saying its releasing along side phenom. Personally, I see nothing wrong with his post as I was unaware of exactly when AMD was releasing the chips

. On the plus note, its about time. I love Visual Studio.

As soon as the express (free) editions are out of beta I will be pulling them.
I've been using the express editions for coding for years and they are great.
I really like MS's IDE. Easy to get around in and lots of nice features.

Dude, the express editions are tapped down pieces of shit. The full version runs circles around the free version. I used the express edition for a while until I started taking flak from people for it, so I said "you know what? fuck it" and got a copy of the full version, and it was like walking through a door made of light. It ruled, and continues to rule. :rockout:

full version is certainly nice but many people can do with the express version, especially considering the price point of the normal one. for people that dont want to or cant spend the high price vs express is a great choice

I've been running Orcas for weeks now (needed it for RAD - Visual Basic) and found the beta very fast and never crashed on me once or any funny bugs

unfortunately my university is a bit behind the times still running 2003
