Here's the GT 620 Vista 64 bit drivers:

Regarding the activation, just go through the phone activation. If you have a smartphone it's not difficult. It'll probably be easier than this workaround.

You can also use a landline. Just select telephone activation and dial the number listed. I've done it with a VoIP phone at one point (like a landline but through a cable box).

You'll likely have to do the call-in method Jak mentioned.

For Vista drivers? Sure!

Not sure which version you're using, so linked both.

That's cool. I've been watching a lot from a few channels about accelerator cards

Hard to say which are more cool, those or the Overdrive (and other upgrade) chips from the early to mid 90s.

Either those or Pentium Pros fall under the category of "cool" (not as in temperature) chips for me.

Pentium II Overdrive is also interesting, upgrade chip for Pentium Pro with external yet full-speed 512k L2.

Now I ordered a C2D E6750
It arrived. Works in BIOS, now I'm downloading Windows 8 so my project code name "FULL RETARD" could have burst in the full swing. Hopefully this CPU isn't defective and can overclock.

Upd: works like a charm. Not even THAT painful. Now I only need to come up with a PSU, a case, and a CR2032 for this rig.

How far do you want to go with overclocking? I also had that CPU with a Gigabyte GA-G33-DS3R. This ran fine at 3.60GHz. 3.8 was not so stable, and didnt take the time to get it at that point.
I sold the set from that time, but I bought the CPU again somewhere. Also have another motherboard, which currently has a Core2Quad 9550. For fun I might want to overclock it again with the 6750, but I still find the 9550 nicer to work with.

This one i have right now:
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L

I used this system again around 2 years ago, when my Haswell system died. Since that time i used it standard, with Windows 10. The HP Z400 had an installation with ZorinOS and i was learning with that system. Later I installed Debian at that system and i was comfortable enough with Debian Linux, and disassembled the Core2Quad system. Maybe at a later point i build this hardware in a Corsair Carbide 500R White, where i installed already swappable drive bays in the front. To make a sort of Backup/NAS, but offline.
But it's also possible I build a system with this board and the C2Q9550 and AMD ASUS HD7970 Direct II CU

I'd love to go extremely far but it seems I hit the FSB wall on the mobo at around 355 MHz which resounds 2.84 GHz on the CPU. Not exactly surprised because my motherboard is one of the earliest 775 models. Will try other configurations, we'll see how it goes.

Hmm, now I'm curious what this 6750 of mine will do... curious if it will reach 3.6 GHz, or maybe higher. And of course the 9550. If I have time this weekend, I'll do some testing.

Hopeless. 355 MHz FSB is the farthest I can go with this configuration. Set it to 350 and happy to declare I have one PC more to play with.
