I've sunk around 35 hours into the game. I've hit some bugs, one is kind of game breaking but it doesn't stop you from progressing the main story so hopefully GSC gets it fixed in an up and coming patch.
I run the game native (no upscaling or frame generation crap) at 1440p, all settings are at Epic, but I turn motion blur down to 0%. I tend to pull an average of 55fps with my computer at these settings.
I do notice pop-ins with trees and vegetation as I'm running through the environment, it's not horrible, but it is noticeable. This doesn't really bother me. What does bother me is that even with draw distance maxed and all settings maxed, off in the very far distance it always looks like I'm looking at things through a chain-link fence. I can see this all the time outside, but it doesn't capture as well in a still image, but I have a couple of examples. One image also shows a floating shadow for my character, this is not uncommon.
First image as you look towards the back you'll see all the jaggies from trees off in the distance, looks like a chain-link fence. The second image also shows the same thing, but the main issue in that one is the floating shadow of my character. I see this come up a lot, too.
I've come across multiple floating heads because the body hasn't loaded in yet.
I also have come across bodies that float above beds like they've been possessed by a demon! And even NPCs sitting on absolutely nothing, but they think they're on some kind of object like a stool.
A graphical bug with lights plagued me inside the SIRCAA facility (it only has happened here, in this building that I've experienced it). In the first picture you can see the lights along the right side. If I turn to face them, then this is what I see in the second picture.
Perhaps the issue lies in the fact I'm using a driver from April (552.22). I'm too lazy to update the driver to see if this problem goes away.
I've seen minor bugs such as rain appearing on windows that are covered or inside of a building.
I've seen spawning issues with NPCs that are supposed to be passing through the area. In this picture you can see the three NPCs standing on the concrete slab, they're just walking back and forth on that slab and won't get off of it.
This one isn't a bug, but I thought it was humorous because even one of the NPCs making chitchat with you mentions how much he thinks item repair costs suck.
I've ran into a handful of mission bugs, mostly minor and one pretty major, but not enough to be game breaking. I think most of the time the atmosphere is kind of intense, landing the game between SoC and CoP. Mutants are pretty predictable, for the most part you just back peddle and shoot them or side step to mostly avoid their attacks. They get kind of boring.
I dislike when bad guys spawn behind you. It's always behind you. As I walk through some random building area, found nothing aside from some scattered items and as I'm leaving bandits or some "I'm mad at you" faction spawns behind you in the area and start to shoot you. On the other hand, when those bad guys spawn behind you there tends to be another group of NPCs that spawn that like you and they start to also attack the bad guys. It never fails, group from both sides always spawn together.
I'm enjoying the game. Spent most of my time off work this Thanksgiving playing, but I'm going to wait for a few more patches to come out before I finish things up. If I had to score the game (out of 10) I'd say a solid 6 right now. I'm hoping some good patching/bug squashing patches can help improve on things and make it more like an 8 or so, right up there with how I scored the other STALKER games.
