Metal tape would work better, but not look at good. Electrical tape adhesive gets nasty very quickly(a few months) whereas the adhesive on metal tape is designed to last for a decade or more.

Technically it should, but I am using really bad TIM right now.. probably the worst I have ever used

I do not hear air blasting out the sides of the rad anymore, so it is doing something..

You can buy paper gasket sheet (Felpro or similar) from an autoparts store that might work well for sealing your fans to the radiator. You can cut it with a scissors to the shape desired.

Possibly even super glue the edges and let capillary action do it's magic for a much cleaner look. Or even some clear silicone but not sure if that would stick to the rad.

It really isnt a big deal to me, just when the fans are at top speed you could hear a crap load of air coming out from around the fan, I just wanted to see if that would stop it, and it did

I did 2 full wraps to be sure, and I held it toight like a tiger

Actually NVM. Ive got enough protypes to do some tests. I'll head down halfords for some of their paint. I say halfords because I dont actually have a arts&crafts store that sells that stuff local to me. By the time I pay for bus fare and time involved going back and forth, I might as well get it from halfords.

Ive prototyped it a few ~~hundred~~ more times....

Found some thicker cardboard, Kept the same four vents for ducting but made it more lower profile. Sitting at 30mm instead of 40mm. I dont own a hot glue gun or any regular paper/crafting glue so I used staples to pin and hold things. Folded in some of the excess to add rigidity and now it just snaps right in and needs a good wiggle to remove.

Yes - its made from old amazon packaging.

I could make the vents a little smaller and have more of them but maybe i'll do that another day.

(this is still a ghetto mod right? right??)
