see! there will a cost, that they can afford, because I'm sure they will put a nice premium on those 6GB just like they did with the 4060 16GB
I'm convinced it will happen
4060 Ti has a 128-bit bus so doubling the VRAM from 8GB to 16GB wasn't anything special. When a card has a 192-bit bus, you can't just put any random amount of memory there*. On a 192-bit bus, the memory amount would practically be 384MB/768MB/1.5GB/3GB/6GB/12GB/24GB etc

* they used mixed density chips in some cards (like 550 Ti, 660, 660 Ti etc) but we all remember how it went.

You can easily go for the $300 3060 from ASUS. 12GB! Only $300!
That was hilarious. Finally we can get a 4yr old card for 300EUR :toast:

Blame the 192-bit bus. Almost 700GB/s doesn't sound too bad to me though.

GB205 has a 192-bit bus so a 16GB version is just not gonna happen.
So far all Skus 5090 all the way to 5070Ti have been limited on memory overclocking on the driver level. Don't get your hopes up.

My bad, I should of been more exact, was referring to the AMD 9070 cards.

"budget rig"... "$550 GPU is a great choice [for 1080p]"

:kookoo:
Hope that was just irony
Mid range 400
High end 500+
Greedvidia blur halo dimension fake hi fi monopolis b$ tier.
Ofc they want point towards into 4070ti super / 5070 Ti.
But you know what I won't buying any of it.

To not be hypocrite I even sold my greedvidia and I am switching to AMD or Intel soon. B580 prices are okieish over here 320euro.
Greedvidia on any tier got like 300euro premium.

AMD are not cheap either. But if prices of 7700xt/7800xt fall a bit I will buy.
Or if I fell particularly generous I will treat myself with 9070 and new mini led IPS monitor.
Omg they took all fun from gaming from me.....
Back in a day you just buy 400gpu and it lasted 7years no issues, didn care about hardware at all cose things just worked.

Now I got something in that price and could not run 1 year old game at all.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

With neural texture compression it will be more than enough even for 4K
Oh sure. It will run 8k textures using only 3.5GB

You can easily go for the $300 3060 from ASUS. 12GB! Only $300!

After the 33 - RTX 5070 cards sell and inventory is depleted, a 3060 will be about your only option for a while.
When they launch the 6070 Ti 12GB for double what I paid for my 3080 4 years ago I'll start to worry.

Units please.

400 pineapples is something i can't afford

When you make statements include the inflation factor.

Check jay2cents recent published video for a bad example..

Even 40€ used card can last you years when you play older titles.

:kookoo:

Y'all been smoking way too much of Jensen's marketing.
Exactly! 2160p should have been a new standard, for how many years ago. Even limited Steam HW survey, shows that 1440p, at 20% is slowly going next dominant resolution, after 1080p, which is slightly above 50%. At least nVidia claimed "4K" to be a thing with 2080Ti, and now this is an era of "8K" already.
This is SSD market, all over again. 1080p, should have been the real "budget" gaming, an entry level HW, for entry level prices, just above $150-200. But this is solid stagnation, and much like the SSD market, it has a deadly grasp over the bottom level silicon/HW, mostly due to upscalling and fake frames, inflate the price, just because it's somehow a "thing" for the top end "luxury" solutions, like 4090/5090 that cost over two grand $$$$.

Nah it'll be an excellent 1440p 144-240Hz GPU, just like 4070S before it. The 5070 raw compute is great, but it should have had 16GB VRAM, and should have had a lower TDP. Nvidia's greed (and memory bus) is the problem with the first issue, and using an old TSMC process node is the problem with the second issue.

Here is to hoping RTX 60 series will actually be next-gen GPUs, but that's years away.

I'm sure the 5070 will be an OK card if it is available at MSRP and doesn't light things on fire randomly. My critique is aimed towards this crazy gaslit-by-nvidia mentality that a $550 GPU is a budget card and/or that it makes sense to spend $500+ to game at 1080p in 2025.

Nvidia isn't going to do anything about VRAM unless/until they get real competition from AMD.

$549 12GB card in 2025... lol.

449$ 5060Ti 16GB card 2025.... lol
U have options tho..just buy used 970 for 30$

RTX 5070 Ti, a “$750” card, sells for 1100 - 1200 EUR here. :p

So that’s clearly a 900 - 1000 EUR card.
And we have soon stock and price is 940e here
