Hmm, you're right. Schizophrenia or a personality disorder would be a better term.
Those aren't traits of a Bipolar person either. In some cases a Bipolar person is misdiagnosed with Schizophrenia, but that's mostly with children, as it's harder for them to understand their emotions, and don't react to them the way an adult would.

No I was saying that those 2 terms would be better, not that they were traits. This is totally off topic and if you want to talk about it, lets take it to PM.

Lol, you're right, lets get this back on track.

I'm still curious as to why MS is interested in Yahoo. I mean besides the user base. What else would they take from this?

Apple is also trying to buy Yahoo. I don't know why either of them are getting caught up in the internet like this, and I hate to see it.

That's why you're the Art major, and they are the multi-billion dollar companies who got that way through successful decision making.

Online Apps are becoming more and more popular. Offline apps are becoming more and more obsolete. Microsoft and Apple study the market like hawks and they know they need to make a move. Google also watches the market like a hawk - which is why they're going to try to give MS all the bad press they possibly can - because, you need to understand something: Google is NOT a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization. MS buying Yahoo will cost Google money (competition - good for consumer - do you even understand this concept? This can only mean good things for you and me... If you want me to repeat this again, just ask I will copy and paste in PM).

google couldnt outbig MS, MS could keep going higher and if they want to they can outbid apple also. MS just happens to be one of richest companies on the planet, and could outbid the US Government if they really wanted to.

Lets get this down.

1) Google has 75% of paid search revenues worldwide. So if MS takes Yahoo, Google will still have 75%.

2) MS is possibly the least innovative company out there. All they do is buy or copy other companies/ideas. This has been seen all the way since early word processing, spread sheets apps, and internet browsers. Sure give given the props for XP and older O/S...but vista!?! Now that's a clone off stuff seen in the open source world of Linux. And on top of that, they are making "works only on vista" formats for documents, pictures, etc.

3) Google has done so well because they are innovative and are able to deploy new technologies and apps in very little time. Every week they announce 5-10 new services or upgrades to their current services. (They do this every Friday).

4) MS does not have the money to buy yahoo. Bill Gates wealth does not mean MS wealth. MS will have to borrow 50% of the money to purchase yahoo. Also MS is not the "richest" company on the planet. ExxonMobile can buy MS in one quarter of profits alone! GE has assets that is worth more than MS.

Fine - so what's the big fuss about? Google will still almost have a monopoly - which you fanboys long for, so why are you all crying about this buyout?

Yea, because google invented spreadsheet, word processing, mapquest, youtube... give me a break.

ktr, MS absolutely has enough money to buy yahoo. MS has like 1000 times the net income yahoo does. Microsoft's games division makes more money than Yahoo.

all those that think this would be good, you must be ms humping IE lovers, because if MS gets control over the net they will do all they can to prevent the likes of FF and Opera from being able to read websites, look at IE7 and tell me that ms supports proper W3C specs......

http://www.w3.org/

ms dosnt support it because they want you/everbody to use their Hacked version of html/css/php/WTFE they are even putting out a compeditor to flash called silverlight, tho i think in that case its a good thing even if its by ms, i hate flash!!!!!

And this is one of my main problems with MS getting this involved in the web. There are a few sites out there that I have to use IE7 for, otherwise they dont work right.

wow dude, we all know they didnt, and honestly MS didnt invent them either. The point is that google gives a free version of all these for us to use, a space to hold our files, and the ability to access the programs and files no matter what computers we go on.

Using MS office apps, the apps will only work with MS files. IF you use google Apps it will load just about any format you can find. I have used it to open many many files that I could not get to open MS apps.

Working with a general contractor they get alot of docs that come in from odd various formats, and I have to find a program to open it, and I found a free one(google)

Google gives there apps for free, MS charges(ALOT) I see a pattern that could ruin yahoo.

http://labs.google.com/ <---there is you break.

Go and call 1(800)GOOG-411

Google improved the internet, while Microsoft exploited it. Why do i have to play MSN to get premium services, while Google offers for free and better. Google Docs is free and has limitless potential, while Microsoft cost a bunch, and is still a limited word processor since the original office.

Google does not make 75% of the ads revenue by sitting down and smoking a joint...

If MS buys Yahoo, google will give you more of the free shit that you love. Stop being babies because you think this sounds bad... it isn't. It's not like MS can bully google out of the competition... they can't. This purchase will spur competition and innovation - which is always good for the consumer. I know you guys desparately want google to own a monopoly on the internet, but thinking long term, this would be very bad. Imagine MS without apple in the picture... The only people that shouldn't be happy about this is Google - since they're the ones who will have to work harder and spend more money.

you can never come up with good points, you just have to make some half ass atempt to attack someone personally, its pretty sad.

We never said it would be bad for that, I was saying it would ruin yahoo. And from what it sounds like your a big supporter of yahoo or MS, so if you like yahoo you should agree, but whatever.

Do me a favor and next time you feel the need to put someone down just keep it to yourself. Nobody really cares what you think and your posts have no credibility when you have to resort to things like that. Just grow up and shut up.

good call, and I have to say, Im new to this - so it kind of bothers me to hear people act so childish. This was one of the reasons I avoided forums for so long, for the most part TPU is different but you can always find 'em

Acutally I'm a fan of both companies. I love google. I've had a Gmail account since gmail only gave 1GB, and you had only 10 invites. I've been using the search engine long before that. I'm evena bigger fan of good products and innovation. Only a liberal idiot couldn't see how this would be good for every party involved. Innovation is only spurred by competition, something that is not found in companies that have a monopoly.

Let's take a look at back in history. Gmail gave 1GB of storage. At the time, this was unheard of since you had to pay MS and Yahoo for 50MB. Later that year, MS and Yahoo gave everyone 250MB of storage for free. Then Google upped the ante to 2GB - and added the Storage trickle. Soon after, Hotmail and Yahoo gave UNLIMITED e-mail space. Soon after that, the Gmail trickle increased tremendously.

Look at the big picture my friends... Google is getting waaaaay too powerful. there is no chance in hell yahoo will be able to catch up unless MS buys them and combines powers.

Tho you did make some good points, you should leave the insults out of it.
