yes but they are the exact same card as the xxx edition and will overclock up to 600/1600. I can save 15.00 and overclock it myself.

Well . The whole idea of buying this card and selling my old 8800 gts 512m was to make some bucks and get a med range performing video card. I think the 8800 gs for 159.00 shipped fits that bill. I did looks at some 3870 and 8800 gt cards but didn't want to spend another 50.00 . I intended thats money for a bigger faster hardrive or some more ram. We will have to see how well this cards does if it is junk I will return it but it appears to beat a 7900 gtx which is still going for 150.00 on ebay and is DX10 so we will see. If you guys see a good deal before monday let me know. I can refuse it for a full refund and buy a different card. Heck i'm using a 8500 gt 256 card now and it plays most of the games I own fairly well.

this seem to indicate my cards core is runing 30 mhz faster than reference clock and the ram 100 mhz slower than the reference ram clock so I'm not sure your right, also as I said before both the XXX version and mine use the same ram and the XXXX version is clocked at 800mhz so I'm sure this card will match it exceeding the recommended specs.

I just am not sure I need the horse power but with that cooler for only 75.00 more up front and 45.00 more after the rebate. Thats seem like a okay deal I will have to think hard on this one . that cooler looks alot like a 7900 gtx cooler.

Yes but the memory seems to have no heatsinks and the mosfits are bare aswell. Thats not good.

yeah, it'd suck to go out and buy a card with a sick after market cooler and then the voltage reg's blow up, or your mem overheats into pc crashes.....

and you don't want to have to buy little mosfet heatsinks for all of those if it SHOULD have them.

in my exp the ram and fets dont get that hot unless u push the card beyond whats posable with software mods, so this shouldnt be an issue, specly seeing as their is airflow over the ram and fets from that nice big fan.

why couldnt bfg give me a cooler like that

I've just bought a XFX 8800 GS ( normal, not XXX version ).
Goog performances but so noisy !!

I've overclocked it with Riva tuner v 2.06 at 680 ( core )/ 1000 ( memory ) / 1700 ( shader ).
That's all fun for the price

I've made some benches on usual games ( BF2, Far Cry, CoD2 ... ) and on 3D Mark 06.

I've just done 10814 on 3DM06 @ 700/1000/1700 and not more than 51°C in stress ( 40°C in idle, without more fan in PC box ).
That's not so bad for a " discount GPU "

Just a question : is it possible editing bios to keep a 256 or 384 bus as the others 8800 ?

i doubt very much that it is at all possible, and nibitor doesnt have an option for that, maybe if you hex edited the bios.

I Hope i'll keep this card a long time. May be i'll replace my 7900GS OC with it and put a better card in place. The E6750 merit a better one no ?
The 9X00 series allow lower prices for 8800 series ( 8800 GT512 @ 189€ in France ).

I'll test OC on my CPU when i'll change my power supply ( this config is 4 days old ).
I'm waitting for a new power supply and 2 more Go of PC6400 memory ( G-Skill cas 4 ). It will free my 8800 capacites.

New benchies this morning :
- @ 700/1000/1700 : 10814 3DM06, 16851 3DM05.
- @ 720/1000/1800 : 10997 3DM06, 16917 3DM05.

The T° is done to 42°C ... 40°C in idle ...

I've seen the topics on 9600 GT ... not so perf as i hope my 8800 GS is not dead

yeah see at this point upping the gpu and shader frequencies by 20 and 100mhz respectively have bought you less than 200 3dmarks, but if you overclock that core 2 duo from 2.66 to 3.4ish, the score should be around 11,500 (at a guess)

and dude, its so easy for me to tell that you're French, i am too, but the giveaway is saying "Go of ram" instead of Gb (gigabyte) or simply gigs (gigabytes)
