I know the feeling all too well. I didn't expect my QX9650 to live pass 2 superclocks but it did 10!, now it won't even pass prime @ 4.2ghz. I can thank my buddies for that :rockout:

I'm not going to even think of killing one of my quads just to get some 3dmks & tri-fire bottlenecks on 3dmk just like quad-fire but 20k @ 3.7 is a given.

maximum respect for sharing this with us 29K is awsome dude But im really sorry to hear about the QX9650 thats a real bummer just hope people take note and always think about there OC and what impact it can have before just rushing into pushing stuff beyond stupid 3dmark aint worth killing things over.

I really didn't do the OC, I just went to the trouble of getting all the sponsored equipment. LN2 is some dangerous crap but they only did single phase. They still managed to get some results b4 everthing froze over - even with 3 coats of insulation. I didn't even get any screenies out of the deal :mad:

I managed to save the ram, gfxs, and cpu but the lanparty was gone. To make up for it I made them get their own GX2 for the next fiasco. The q6700 should be an easier beast for me to deal with then that monster. I just don't like the thought of losing such valuable stuff to some stupid tests :mad:

Just to clarify, my score was done on the AGP version. I see some notation of the AGP on other peoples lines but not mine.

Here is my 3dMark06 score, I will have to take another shot using cpuid and gpuz when I have a chance this evening. Unforutnately I can only screen shot this as I cannot submit due to not having an internet connection on my gaming computer.

i got some rubbing alcohol but its 50% isopropyl....is that good enough or should i get it with 70%

I would test it on something first to see if it leaves any kind of residue. A black piece of aluminum would work as it's easy to see what residue is left behind.

Yes, I use that at school when i need to clean up the rosin from the solder that gets on the board. It also dries very fast. So 90% is what you need.

I just want to thank Freak for maintaining this thread.

Deffinitly on XP! Also, be sure to have all unecessary processes turned of in the Task Manager, which is also good for more points. I highly recommend reading through the "important" stuff here, in the XP tweak guide. :toast:

well Gentleman here are my results.....

fur bench for 6min at 1920x1200. if it was going to crash it would have.

i normally could run it for about 3 seconds and crash. So my his card is fine but doens't like volts to much.
