Well, trt hasn't said to me if he still has his up on sale or not... so might throw him a pm for a x38.... but I think the pro would be to your liking... look at p45 club house and the p5q pro bios thread... I think you will like it!

I got a P5Q Deluxe...great f-ing board...I found a great deal..lucked out really. Paid $136 shipped lol! P5Q Pro was what I was gonna get tho!

I really have to go intel now... I wasted a cr*pload of money on highend parts that'll only get maybe 50-70% performance on this stupid amd boatload.. wish I hadn't been so stubborn about intel.
and is there any point in spending an extra 20 spot to get the e8500 over the e8400, is it higher binned?

Well i think trt was selling his for 165... but like I said... don't quite know... but the P5Q Pro wouldn't be nothing bad for ya.... Plus its asus style bios... all ways able to use the new stuff to the old boards...

Careful with the p45 boards. I've gone through 2 (Biostar and Gigabyte). Both had trouble with high speed memory stability. I've gone back to an DFI x38 board. The x38 and p35 is a better chipset, from my experience.

I'm okay on a P45, but I don't need more than 1000-1066 speeds...imo I'd rather have lower speeds in the 800-900 range with lower latencies that will still attain good bandwidth ratings. I never got into the DDR1200+ runs tho.

Yeah, there are just a few boards on the p45 chipset that I will allow anyone to think about. The max, the highend biostar one, and the P5Q pro because of how Ket was able to set up custom bios. Other then that I won't be saying P45.

When I say the high End Biostar is the one that has all ways been on back order at the egg... lol... I know you, Paulieg, got whatever they had.. I think the better Biostar is the Tpower I45... wasn't yours the Tpower TP45? Don't quite remember... lol

I hear ya. I never buy 1200's either. However, I was NOT able to run even stock speeds with my Ballistix 1066's (D9s/double sided) or my Gskill Pi 1000's on either p45 boards. However, once I put the Ballistix back into my DFI BL, I was flying above 1100 on stock volts.

The tracers are tempermental ram on some things... They where never the greatest with my Max board. But with the DFI Blood Iron board I can do stock with 1100 like you and bench it at 1180. Was able to get benching and 24/7 at 1:1... But the max was another story... likes the Axe ram so far, but not the tracers... :laugh:

Yeah, but neither board liked the Gskill's either, and they are Elpida chips. Oh, and it was the little brother to the Tpower that I had, but people were getting similar results with both of those boards. I did however notice that people were not obtaining high memory clocks on either board. I do hope someone proves me wrong though, and shows me some high memory clocks on p45's.

Wow, we are so off topic here. So, who has done the bios mod on their 260gtx? I'll probably flash mine this weekend.

I was so looking to grab the G skill Pi ram for my AMD build. But, after seeing how some aren't getting the good results on memory speeds, I don't think I want to grab them... I love the look, but just don't know if I should... lol.
I guess the Biostar is only good with the BEST STUFF... spend small on the board and BIG on the ram...

If you haven't tried them before, give Buffalo Firestix a shot. They are still using confirmed D9's. HIGHLY underated ram. They clock like crazy, and the heatspreaders are beautiful. I had a set of 800's clocked up to 1148 on 2.2v.

Before I was looking at the G-skill I was trying to find a 800 or 1066 kit of them... Every place was sold out, but then every site that did had 2gbs for almost $200 bucks... So, I haven't looked in the last month in a half.... I'll be looking once oct. comes.. should be getting a AMD rig up then...

Well my "stand in" P5Q3 Deluxe arrived today, havent got time to pop it in tonight so hopefully will get it done tomorrow night, I might finally get this Q9650 up and running! although I am expecting to have to "caress" the board into some decent O/C action.

I should get a brand spanking new replacement XFX 790i Ultra within 2 weeks, so this Anus board has that time to impress me, if it does then I'll keep it in and sell the 790i as new pocketing some profit, if not the 790 goes in and the Anus is for the garbage!

Yeah......I hate Anus! but I always seem to get them as stand in's....when my Gigabyte x38DQ6 went bad and I RMA'd it, I got a Premium P35 Black pearl stand in, that was a pretty good board and as I wasnt going to do crossfire, I kept that one and fleabayed the repaired DQ6 but only kept it for 2 months before I got the 790i.......for some reason I never get on with the Anus boards as well.

The only two boards that have done good for me is my max board and my Blood Iron board... I throw the Anus to anyone that needs something that is not wanting to hassle with things... but DFI for ones that know whats going on... lol.. I just wish the 780i board worked... it would be fun to use all those tools that I could only dream of on a crossfire board...

I'm not sure I agree Paul remember the Maximus and Rampage have had several bios updates to help with memory compatability and my Maximus / Rampage loves the value DDrr2 1000 Gskills Pi I just bought. As a matter of fact according to Gskill they are made for X38/X48 motherboards. I will admit they won't overclock worth crap but they work very well at stock speeds.

That is true, the boards are great boards. I love my max... but I think it just works better if the ati card is in it and not a Nvidia... but that's me...

Tom, the Maximus and Rampage are x38 boards, and I know they handle memory well. I'm saying that I've had memory problems with p45 boards.
