It's been unusually quiet this 4th. Fireworks are legal here and usually they are going off pretty regularly but not this year so far. Maybe later tonight.

I wanna go outside and scream ahh my fingers, but my throat is kinda raw...side effect of a medicine that didnt work.
baking soda and a lemon juice makes sodium citrate and emulsifier. I love chemistry when its functional for things I can do. American cheese broke in such a way and is like ricotta. Maybe I can fix it.

FYI/PSA ...Dont add himalayan pink salt to a cheese sauce or it will break

Honestly, at this point I’d just swallow my pride and run Ubuntu (or Mint, I suppose) if I was inclined to go Linux. It’s probably the most hassle-free out of the box experience one can get.

Yeah true, I was playing with a variant mint. Then tried normal builds and driver prompt pops up automatically and works. I like to play/test OS's.
so dvi ports can pass audio. dvi out from old quadro with dvi to hdmi adapter into hdmi monitor with speakers just testing out things and I heard audio. amazing

How old we are talking? Because no, DVI doesn’t actually carry audio. But for HDCP compliance and simplification on most vaguely modern GPUs the DVI port is connected to the HDMI encoder on the card since, functionally, HDMI was an evolution of DVI in many ways and the signaling is the same. So that’s why it works in your case, most likely. You are essentially running HDMI with a DVI shaped plug on one end.

    This card.

Well yeah, that’s not that old and Kepler was definitely one of the aforementioned cards that supported HDCP via DVI.

Ryzen 1000s, 2000s, and 3000s are more-compatible with Legacy OSs than the 5000s-onwards.
    [Also, that's well in-theme w/ folks running Win9X on x58-Nehalem. :D ]

Example: a R5 3600 is 99% 'compatible' with Windows 7. (IIRC, I even got all the USB ports working).
A 5600, will have more missing devices in DevMgr. (IIRC, stability was not guaranteed, too.)

I got my 5950and 5600x working on 7 with all drivers installed. I have a rar with some drivers on it all usb works too.
I like to try benchmarks and mess around.

I did get xp working on 9600k /z390 but when I rebooted it loads to a black screen.

Today is National CD player day. Oct 1 1982 Sony released something we still use today. The disc still lives on in games/dvd's etc.

don't forget that PCM also still lives on in e.g. FLAC/ALAC and WAV/AIFF to this day.

Somewhat related, most people probably do not know that DSD likewise originated with the Super Audio CD or SACD, which was also codeveloped by Sony. People much smarter than me have stated that it is impossible for higher sampling rates (which I guess includes typical DSD, even though it is not a high PCM sampling rate) to yield superior performance for audio playback than 44.1 kHz/CD quality.

I trust their judgment, so I think that SACD is basically a scam to milk audiophiles for money while also trying to introduce DRM for music/audio, just like they did for movies/video with DVD (CSS). It is probably not a coincidence that Sony also owns some of the biggest labels in the music industry.
Who would ever imagine Bill Gates would mastermind the mark of the beast system.
