We got a pretty good turnout. Not as many as the last couple of years. Most of the kids don't live in our subdivision. It's become a neighborhood of older people over the years. The kids come by in car loads from who knows where but that's cool. Happy Halloween.

Economic depression lolwut? The candy is free so if anything that should make MORE trick or treaters.

Trunk or treat is the new norm, is the real reason.
I love bios adventures. I got a 5600x to do 5ghz boost. Got my 5950x back to 5250 boost. and I have yet to try the edc boost bug with a 3700x.
I downgraded my mobo bios fine and upon reboot darkness. I was about to hardway flash with pic programmer and realize bios didn't support 5000 series till a few bios numbers higher. Luckily I have a spare 3000 series in a drawer to fix this. Going on an unexpected adventure.

Back to normal and playing with a 3700x that I barely ever used then off to tune 5950x like it used to run before all these bs performance reducing updates.
New HL game coming out apparently.

Guess I'm going to have to add salt to my grocery list. I don't have nearly enough pinches right now to cover this. :p

I heard there have been several murders in the Valve HQ the last few days, people were counting to 3, now they are between 2x3 planks.
Like a tailpipe I'm exhaust.Making a type of croquette.Round Meatball (ground turkey) seasoned well then cooked. Then the potato mixture that has to be concrete thick with cheese and mixed. wrapped that around ball then roll that in cornmeal. I spent more time today than thanksgiving cooking. I still have to fry it but waiting for my Mom and bro to come home.

It's been unusually quiet this 4th. Fireworks are legal here and usually they are going off pretty regularly but not this year so far. Maybe later tonight.

I wanna go outside and scream ahh my fingers, but my throat is kinda raw...side effect of a medicine that didnt work.
baking soda and a lemon juice makes sodium citrate and emulsifier. I love chemistry when its functional for things I can do. American cheese broke in such a way and is like ricotta. Maybe I can fix it.

FYI/PSA ...Dont add himalayan pink salt to a cheese sauce or it will break
I went on a linux adventure setup everything and then go to play windows game and lmde-6-cinnamon-64bit doesnt have a proper driver. time to wipe and start over.

Honestly, at this point I’d just swallow my pride and run Ubuntu (or Mint, I suppose) if I was inclined to go Linux. It’s probably the most hassle-free out of the box experience one can get.

Yeah true, I was playing with a variant mint. Then tried normal builds and driver prompt pops up automatically and works. I like to play/test OS's.
so dvi ports can pass audio. dvi out from old quadro with dvi to hdmi adapter into hdmi monitor with speakers just testing out things and I heard audio. amazing

How old we are talking? Because no, DVI doesn’t actually carry audio. But for HDCP compliance and simplification on most vaguely modern GPUs the DVI port is connected to the HDMI encoder on the card since, functionally, HDMI was an evolution of DVI in many ways and the signaling is the same. So that’s why it works in your case, most likely. You are essentially running HDMI with a DVI shaped plug on one end.

Well yeah, that’s not that old and Kepler was definitely one of the aforementioned cards that supported HDCP via DVI.

Ryzen 1000s, 2000s, and 3000s are more-compatible with Legacy OSs than the 5000s-onwards.
    [Also, that's well in-theme w/ folks running Win9X on x58-Nehalem. :D ]

Example: a R5 3600 is 99% 'compatible' with Windows 7. (IIRC, I even got all the USB ports working).
A 5600, will have more missing devices in DevMgr. (IIRC, stability was not guaranteed, too.)

I got my 5950and 5600x working on 7 with all drivers installed. I have a rar with some drivers on it all usb works too.
I like to try benchmarks and mess around.

I did get xp working on 9600k /z390 but when I rebooted it loads to a black screen.
