Hurricane Ida update: my neighbor said he and I have no damage and only small branches down. He said it was just pure luck, because it was very bad (he stayed). Power came back for our little area this morning. With no gasoline for 100 miles around tho, i’m waiting a few more days I think to return.

I’ll be evacuating tonight. Taking my PC since the chip shortage is so bad. My gut says “go” like it did with Katrina. I never leave, so that should say something. Hopefully I’ll not end up a permanent refugee.

Survived the Left side eyewall of Hurricane Zeta. No cell service. Posting this to applaud the use of small UPS’s to keep router and modem alive!

Aside from that, scariness ensued. No power so I’ll have to wait till daylight to see if I have a roof.

I love how a marketplace vendor at Amazon decides on their own that I need to sign for the cpu I bought. No mention of this anywhere. I call FEDEX...non-productive. I can pick it up after 7. (Nope, not going back out after 80 minute trafficky commute). “We will try tomorrow during the day again.” Not listening to me. It took call to vendor to have the package left at FEDEX! :shadedshu:

Woke up to no power and howling wind through the trees. Little ole Tropical Storm Olga has given us sustained 40mph winds with higher gusts and knocked out power. Yay.

I just looked in Newegg for 1060's and 1070's, and what is up with minimal selections (not counting overpriced marketplace)? Wow! Amazon wasn't much better. Not a lot of choices to replace this RX 480. Where are all the cards I looked at a few months ago?
