    Choosing an Internal HDD

This link to a previous discussion including how well IJ runs may be of interest. The best is going to be WD Gold with understanding it never parks the heads, i.e. loud at idle and much louder than consumer drives while active...

Pls help me decide on a stop-gap upgrade (CAD currency)

In other words, don't count on the economy or availability in two years. Shop smart now either at retail or in the used market. Aim for a balanced system. GPU + i3(AMD equivalent) might be valid reason for imbalanced system. 3rd gen is a highly reasonable place to feel a need to upgrade...

    Post your cooling.

Big Shuriken? If so that is interesting it works just as well on AM4.

Been thinking of opening this lately. Got distracted on new play through by driver and other issues after AC:O 24H2 patch arrived.

Finally bought the final COTW map that is not just unpopular but openly loathed. New England Mountains terrain is incredible and clearly pains were taken creating it. In nearly all respects it should be among the top rated maps. When you can find any of the seemingly scarce animals it is very...

Scour the used market around and inside your uni. i5-8xxx and a GTX1070 is 10000x more valid for two years of light gaming and low amount of Canadian Kopecks. Splurge on a 3060ti if you want sorta RT in the mix. Edit: Oops, meant 1070

Chase and I do mean CHASE the lowest cost processor and best mobo from either red or blue. Anywhere you can find a decent non-abused set of hardware. Then dump whatever you can feel safe to afford on the gpu because that is the sad and continually worsening reality.

How to relubricate a fan and/or service a troublesome/noisy fan.

Two ideas impact lubrication. 90 year old well sealed sewing machine oil was made with better stuff than you will find outside of commercial products today and will still perform better. Where bearings are concerned light oil is always better in a sealed environment because it won't degrade or...

IJ was the other one I considered before deciding 2008 graphics and controller support would be spottier than 2018 game I chose. Doesn't look anywhere near as bad as store page screenshots. Exactly like the others actually. Current PC might be riddled with anomalies. Project for this...

LEGO DC Super-Villains is bedlam compared to casual pacing of LEGO City Undercover. Absolutely hectic in comparison.
