Recommended PhysX card for 5xxx series? [Is vRAM relevant?]

Thanks for testing. The game has shader compilation stutter, by the way, both the benchmark and the actual game stutter a lot without any cached shaders. But according to pcgamingwiki, running it from an HDD also causes stuttering supposedly. Interesting that you have high performance in the...

Recommended PhysX card for 5xxx series? [Is vRAM relevant?]

Do you have Batman: Arkham City? It would be nice to have a direct comparison with the built-in benchmark. It would also be relevant to know what CPU you have. The bottleneck I encountered is definitely CPU-related. At 5.1 GHz the minimum framerate was 70 FPS, but at 3.3 GHz it was 59 FPS. Only...

    WD Black SN7100 2 TB

Progress is great, but personally I care more about storage capacity than performance, that's where I want to see progress. I'm still waiting for SSDs to match HDDs in terms of GB per dollar (which will happen, as HDDs are not getting cheaper anymore). I still use HDDs for video storage, as...

    WD Black SN7100 2 TB

Wow. It would take me more than 1 minute to think of what I could do with that extra 1 minute I saved with a faster drive. ;) Kidding aside, I can't ever imagine a scenario where I'd care about "productivity" performance in a home environment. Whether it's copying files, encoding video or...

Recommended PhysX card for 5xxx series? [Is vRAM relevant?]

I managed to find a GT 1030 GDDR5 for about 25 bucks, so I got it for testing purposes. It fits nicely in the bottom PCI-E x4 slot (connected to the chipset). I only tested Batman: Arkham City so far (4K, max settings, MSAAx4). When I put PhysX just on the 4070, the GPU is underutilized in all...

Nintendo Revises Switch 2 Product Info; VRR Support Scrubbed from Some Official Sites

As far as I know, not with the official spec. The screen needs to support whatever VRR the output device is using. Xbox One X supported FreeSync, but you needed a monitor that supported that, I don't think there were any TVs with such a feature. Consoles are designed mainly with TVs in mind, so...

AOC Announces the 27-inch Q27G40XMN Gaming Monitor with Mini-LED Backlight

I have burn-in from browser and taskbar icons, and the HUD from Destiny 2 (almost 3000 hours played). It's very slight and only noticeable on big areas with a solid color. That's after almost 6 years of hardcore usage. I had way worse issues with my two previous LCD TVs (one was IPS, one VA)...

Nintendo Revises Switch 2 Product Info; VRR Support Scrubbed from Some Official Sites

Switch 2 is using HDMI 2.0, right? VRR requires HDMI 2.1. And while it could be done with G-SYNC (this is supposedly what's being used with the portable display), the TV would also need to support G-SYNC (the LG C9 OLED supported this over HDMI 2.0, newer models use 2.1). Weird choice by...

MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio OC+

In Poland you can buy many 50 series cards on MSI's website and they're in stock a lot, but all of them are above MSRP. Even the Shadow model is about $860 + 23% VAT, which is ridiculous. The regular 5070 is $50 above MSRP.

NVIDIA Releases GeForce 572.83 WHQL Game Ready Drivers

I installed this today and my second monitor continuously switches between a normal signal and a black screen, but only when it's the only one active. It's connected via DP. My TV is fine over HDMI, and the DP monitor is fine when both are active.

Split Fiction Proves Massively Popular During Launch Week, Sells Over 2 Million Copies On Steam

Disagree. The vast majority of co-op games are basically single-player, where additional players don't really affect the game, they're not needed. So it's actually great to see games designed around co-op, where each player is doing different things towards a common goal. And considering how...

Respawn Entertainment Reportedly Cancels Unannounced First-person Shooter Project

How is it that this company publishes games from Hazelight Studios, successful games that cost $50, have no microtransactions and come with a friend pass, yet they manage to ruin everything else they touch? Are they really so stupid they can't see their own recipe for success?

Early Leak Claims AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Might Reach NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Territory

    1) What does that have to do with mastering? 4K Blu-ray has been around since 2016, yet the vast majority of new movies was being mastered at 2K and upscaled to 4K. It was only like 2 years ago that we finally started seeing native 4K in new movies, which is irrelevant most of the time anyway...

Early Leak Claims AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Might Reach NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Territory

8K will never be a thing, because it's the biggest waste of computational power you can imagine. You need a 50" desk monitor or a 100" TV to notice the detail, and you need to have the detail in the first place. Nobody will master anything in 8K because it's a ridiculous waste of resources...

Rockstar Reveals Free Upgrade for Grand Theft Auto V PC Version, Coming March 4

This is cool. I've only played the story at launch on Xbox 360. PC version was just for online heists. Definitely excited about DLSS (no good anti-aliasing in the original version). I wonder how it's going to look and perform with RTGI.
