For all we know the OP does have defective RAM chips. That's why I recommended memtest86+ first. I would have suggested more tests if memtest is fine,

If you don't have PCIe v5 then the bandwidth actually goes down from only using 8 lanes.
And it's not that you can use the other 8 lanes for anything else in consumer boards.
This thing loads DCS 2 seconds faster than my 2 GB sn850x. I guess DCS is a bit more dependent on throughput than I thought. Off into the Linux server.
