We have let you know all about the new HDMI 1.3 with all its new features. One thing that was mentioned was a new, small connector for portable devices. Since the new standard has been finalized, here is a picture of the new connector. The first products should be available in 2007.

wtf 2007? so we wont see the new TV's with all those new features like deep colour and 30,000:1 contrast ratio in 2006 ?

Ok question about HDMI: Will 1.3 be backwards compatible with the original? Is it like the change to USB 2.0 where it's primarialy a bandwidth increase (software/firmware/driver upgrades), or is the actual connection interface different? (i.e. could I connect a PS3 with HDMI 1.3 to my HDTV with original HDMI?)
