Campaign Calls for Early Windows 7 Release

I agree, let them take their time. Everyone should be happy with Vista SP2 for now.

IF she wants so badly, then she can use the beta!

Kelly Poe is a he ;)

And other than IE8, I have actually found Windows 7 to be a LOT more stable than Vista. In fact I'm contemplting using it as my primary OS, just with firefox. I think this is why a lot of people are calling for it to be released early. Drivers are in place, AV companies are ready, it just needs finishing off. IMO It could be released this summer.

Early Realease U M B Joking!

Win7 is what Vista Should've been, & they've only just relesed the beta of Win7, Microsoft arent going to make the same mistake as they did with Vista, and i can probably say with certain confidence that they wont be announcing "Win8" 6months after releasing Win7! You Polish Away Microsoft!!!

Is anyone thinking what I'm thinking? Will Vista turn out to be one huge public beta for Windows 7. Does M$ need "one free pass" whenever they release a new OS that's a major departure from the previous one?

"Hey thanks for the feedback on Vista. We've taken your suggestions and have created the incredible Windows 7 Operating System. The Vista release also gave us the time to really get it working right."

I don't really care when they release 7 because I probably won't buy it...at least for a couple of years anyway. I actually can't think of a valid reason for buying it. But for the sake of all my tech-brethren's sanity, I hope they wait until it's in really good shape before releasing it.

That was earlier than expected. Hope it's good.

I think he was saying that since vista was released early it was a mess.

It got a lot better later. MS keeps blaming themselves and apologizing for the release of Vista, but it's a dam good os.

I used vista from the start and never had any problems either. Its just a few people make fricken mountains frome molehills.

The biggest problem that noob thinks is memory hogging. Seriously it's actually making use of ram. The people that start threads in forums like " Vista is a ram hogger, how can a shave off some ram" WTF?

Yah I totally hate that or the hdd is thrashing ... and it might ruin it

Vista is awesome as an OS and I prefer it over the 7 beta so they can take as long as they want. I think the only reason people want it rushed is because they believe all that apple "Vista sucks, get OSX!" BS.

yes, and Vista is great now. From what i remember Vista was suppose to be what 7 is, and then shareholders wanted it to be release sooner, so Vista was the product of that. I would like to see a Microsoft OS that is great out of the box, that would be awesome. Ask any coder, the one thing they hate more than deadlines, are deadlines that have been moved up.

i feel bad for even replying to this, as we are getting off topic here, but really, there is just no reason an OS should use that much memory, no reason. As programs evolve they should get more efficient, not less. The same can be said for KDE 4.0, it was released to soon, basically released a beta, but anyways, it uses less memory over KDE 3.5 and thats how it should be. Even when XP came out it was considered to be a hog. The honest, only reason why Microsoft has Vista use as much power as it does is to keep hardware vendors happy. Hey, Microsoft, we are making all this bigger faster hardware, but no one is buying it. (oh wait, you need 4gbs of memory to surf the internet and word process??? no) This is the advent of the netbook/top, and they use linux. So they pump up system requirements so people have to upgrade their hardware. Don't give me the 3D desktop thing ether, because Apple and various Linux distros have had 3d desktops for awhile now, and they run on embedded graphics. So, why does Microsoft do the things they do??? money, the end user is not their concern. Its a horrible cycle, one they NEED to break, a new "better" OS should for no reason use the amount of power that Vista generally requires.

Current 7 = Vista SP2

I think they could take some more time to add great features like superfetch except improved on. Another thing i'd like to have seen was a newer media player because WMP 12 isn't that good i'd say it was 11.5 at most.

Vista was still great when it came out, now its greaterer.

lol greaterer

Push Push Push...... Buy buy buy.....

This is what makes software so ridiculously horrible at release, makes people complain later and gives these companies so much money and power...

The whole point of taking up large chunks of ram is because of superfetch. It does use a lot of ram, but that's how vista is faster then XP.

the same people who want 7 released sooner will be the ones complaining microsoft is taking too long to release fixes for problems that have developed due to a rushed launch. we have a friggen beta edition for free until september, why rush microsoft so you can pay to use pretty much the same thing?

+1 for that if it is brought out early there will be bugs and complaints just wait abit ppl and be happy with using the beta while ms irons out the kinks.

some people when you say Vista is an okay OS start saying: you're dumb, a retard, an idiot, stupid,......

Releasing a product like this onto the market, premature, WILL cause too much trouble for too many parties involved.

The beta version was relesed by Microsoft as a means to better their ALMOST ready product. w7 is comming together in accordance to its schedule and the most that sites begging/demanding/requesting(whatever) an early release are able to do is, ' bust balls '. MAYBE get a final release date out of Microsoft, but they are about to give that to us anyways.

. . . . For those of you that wanted the early release, well you have the beta. For those that can wait for the PROPER release, well, we are making use of the beta and await the formal release.

Kelly Poe should focus her attention/efforts on something like saving recently extinct animals.
