I looked all over the net for a gpu-x
Folding@Home service installers will install your GPU service as "Folding@home-GPU-[X]" where X is a number
Folding@home installs with the cat drivers.
Thats something that burns my cookies when they add third party stuff I don't recognise or want.
The cat drivers also install a world of war craft free trial, thats so bogus because you have to pay left and right to be able to play that game, other games don't pull that kind of crap ...
ok some do but not many.
What I'm saying is I don't think gpu-x is a good idea to use since it's already used in command line.
This whole thing stinks because nVidia did NOT invent the graphics processing unit
it was a marketing term they hijacked from the hardware world and was in circulation
way before they came into the picture and started acting like they were God.
so I would move away from the GPU terminology , we don't have to bow down to nVidia
we can call it a Video Processing Unit or Visual Processing Unit , or even Video Command Execution Unit and the list goes on ... nVidia are not the last word no matter how much they
may think they are.
Anyone who thinks nVidia has the exclusive right to control the term Graphics Processing Unit is a terrorist and a traitor to this country.
GPU-Z is a utility and it could be called - VPU , Video Processor Utility.
I realise it was named GPU-Z in order for people to understand that it is simular to CPUID
which is for CPUs but that also send up a red flag for me because it makes it look like
GPU-Z is following the nVidia pradigim and thats insulting.
honeslty you can't "get in to the game" unless you can "get in to the hardware" hahah
a powerup is a game term , it means to aquire an item in the game that gives you an advantage aka more power.
Anyway I'm beating a dead horse on that because that train has already left the station.
I don't agree with the term GamePowerUP but it's not my call either.
that term kinda leaves a bad taste in the mouth for me because it's treading
into old school gamer lingo and that can cause a loss of respect from them.
is it just me or does anyone else feel this way.
