ECS Pairs GeForce 9 Series Cards with Arctic Cooling L2 Pro Coolers

ECS is introducing two new GeForce 9 series accelerators which feature low-power designs. The accelerators based on GeForce 9800 (N9800GTE-1GMU-F) GT comes with reference clock speeds, while GeForce 9600 GT (N9600GTE-1GMU-F) with slightly reduced clock speeds. The cards feature 1 GB of GDDR3 memory, double that of the reference design.

The cards make use of Arctic Cooling L2 Pro GPU cooler with a 92 mm PWM-controlled fan. Power is drawn entirely from the PCI-Express slot, as the cards lack the 6-pin PCI-E power inputs. The N9800GTE-1GMU-F comes with clock speeds of 600/900 MHz (core/memory), which are the reference speeds for 9800 GT, while the N9600GTE-1GMU-F 550/900 MHz.

That looks like the same HSF that's on the 4830. If it is, it is very quiet and actually cools pretty well.

Yeah, several companies use that cooler. AC is starting to find it more lucrative being an OEM supplier. Bad for us retail folks.

Wow, that's damn interesting, just a couple days ago in a recent thread about AC's new GPU cooler I asked why vid card companies don't team up with AC and put these high-power and efficient coolers on the cards instead of the massive crap coolers they use. And now it's begun! Ahhh...

Yeah, I would've kept my 3870x2's if they would have released that 4870x2 triple fan cooler(would have tested for compatibility first) back in March but just got tired of waiting.

Nice coolers BUT why is the 9600GT longer then the 9800GT?

My old ASUS 4830 had a cooler that was eerily similar to those. It worked well so these will probably be good too!

Yep and it makes the cards stiffer and thus less likelier to die from mechanical faliure (BGA+heat = broken solder contacts).

I agree Bjorn. Hell, my Asus DK hd4870 1gb has that strengthening bar on it. It actually makes it more rigid, and therefore, leads to longer use. A huge difference with that and my IceQ3 HD 3870.

Yeah.. I just hate it when the card's PCB warps due to the heat it generates.. Bent PCBs are not nice to look at also

ECS video cards are top notch they are not cheap anywhere

I've got a cooler very similar to that sitting on my parts bench.

Its got clear fins instead of white, but otherwise looks pretty much the same.
