OCZ Technology Group, a worldwide leader in innovative, ultra-high performance and high reliability memory, today expanded their memory lineup for AMD enthusiasts and power users with new DDR3 kits qualified and optimized specifically for the AM3 platform. The new low-voltage kits were designed exclusively for AMD's transition to DDR3 and are tailored to make full use of the latest computing environments as well as establish a future-proof system with restricted voltage requirements.

"AMD's new AM3 architecture is designed specifically for the gaming community, with emphasis on high data transfer rates between the system memory and the graphics subsystem," commented Dr. Michael Schuette, VP of Technology Development at OCZ. "The key improvement over the AM2 platform is the embracing of DDR3 technology where OCZ has a track record of being a market leader. These new AMD kits further establish our leading role in this category and show our commitment to both industry partners and the gaming community by complementing AMD's gaming platform with future-oriented, low voltage memory technology."

OCZ's newest 1600 MHz and 1333 MHz Low-Voltage kits are optimized to leverage AMD's DDR3 platform for an enhanced real world computing experience, particularly beneficial for enthusiasts, gamers, and professionals whose systems demand superior compatibility. Featuring a low-voltage specification, the new AMD optimized memory will be an excellent way to future-proof your system with impending CPU voltage limitations on the next generation platforms.

OCZ will release the low-voltage AMD Edition kits under the award-winning Platinum and Gold series designed specifically for enthusiasts and gamers:

OCZ PC3-12800 Platinum AMD Edition Low Voltage (2x2 GB) 7-7-7-24 @ 1.65v
OCZ PC3-12800 Gold AMD Edition Low Voltage (2x2 GB) 8-8-8-24 @ 1.65v
OCZ PC3-10666 Platinum Low Voltage AMD Edition (2x2 GB) 7-7-7-20 @ 1.65v
OCZ PC3-10666 Gold AMD Edition Low Voltage (2x2 GB) 9-9-9-20 @ 1.65v

Each module is 100% hand-tested for quality assurance and compatibility and feature high quality gold or platinum mirrored XTC (Xtreme Thermal Convection) heatspreaders for the most effective heat dissipation. As part of OCZ's line-up of premium memory, the AMD Edition memory series is backed by a Lifetime Warranty and industry-leading technical support for unparalleled peace of mind.

This isn't surprising, though I wonder if they are going to be any 'better' than their other DDR3 Dual-Channels offerings. I have the OCZ Crossfire Cerfitied DDR2, which I like, so I might look into these eventaully, if they aren't just another reason to jack up the price

I am happy about this news but I really just want my Phenom II X4 955. hurry up with the release guys!

I know its usually a marketing gimmick but most of the damn ddr3 kits out there are made for triple channel and intels platform. This makes me very happy when I transition to AM3 and DDR3 :)

*gives me an idea*

I might just have to try these.

they also had AM2 only ddr2 sticks, but it was impossible to find them or a review about them

They should have made them red.

Are these for sale yet?

For the record, AMD AM3 CPUs have no "official safe limits" for memory voltages, beyond what existed for DDR3 platforms before Core i7. OCZ is confusing the buyer.

You can install those 2+ V CSX Diablos, those CellShock sticks, etc.

wasn't there real better DDR2 for AMD chips? Ones that used more blocks for more information to pass threw?

that's the ones, i mentioned. but i wasn't able to find any for sale

yea lol for me not reading the thread. Yea I never seen them for sale either hmmmm

Paper Launch, Expect them a Few months from now

if read the specification in OCZ site you find this
"AMD AM3 DDR3 Platforms Only "
seems rally do good performance with AM3 mobo's

I think its marketing just like the TriChannel Kits, Wanna bet you can purchase one of those and then an Individual Stick and probably Pay less than the Dual Channel Kits.

I remember back during the A64/P4 that they were Releasing Modules Tweaked specifically for Latency (A64) and then Bandwidth (P4)

I have some Super Talent DDR3 1333 with D9JNM chips I'm going to use for my 955.

Why 1.65? I want to see some cas6 1333mhz 1.8v like the ones Crucial has out.
I guess it's nice to see them come out with AMD optimized memory, it just seems a little silly that they are using such low voltage and high latency. That stuffs for the i7!

2.26v thru my chip no ill effects and big deal on the ram same settings same volts my crucial's can do the same thing
