Corsair Readies New HX-series PSU

Man this PSU is nice, I wish it was out when I was looking at PSUs, modular and blue, plus I can't help but think I would have been better off with a 750w for future Crossfire. Oh well, maybe another time. Hope the price is good I might get one in the future, Corsair FTW! I like the flat cables too.

many multi rail PSU's are 'fake' and actually consist of a single rail, with OCP on each 'rail'

i thought that single railed is better? so wouldn't it be better that the multi-railed one's technically aren't multi-rail. Just curious what's the difference, i noticed that a lot of the single railed PSU's with the same wattage as my PSU(700) have less amps than a multi rail. would the single rail still be more efficient or something?

single rails "possibly" are better as there dosent need to be any switching or division of power among the rails.(simpler =less chance for fail)
For me single rails rule because they are simpler to mod.

as was said in that link, multi rail was a requirement of the older ATX specs. you couldnt make a PSU with rails above a certain amperage (20A i think it was) and still sell it. So they made 'fake' rails so they could still sell em.

Once the specs got updated, hooray. alls well again.

I believe the "Single rail / Multi rail is better" issue is a thing of the past. Good quality PSU's with the right # of connectors can handle almost anything you throw at it on the VGA department.

they're "OK" but I would rather decent braids. But also look at the 24pin... looks awful!

Dont get me wrong, there ok (much better than un-braided regular cables) but I just dont like them as much as properly braided normal cables.

To me the Corsair cables are way too stiff to be easy to work with. Also because they are all black its a bit harder to know whats 12V, 5V or grounds...

Now that is nice! I don't know about one for all, what I would do with the 24pin is braid each individual cable then put a larger braid on top of all the single braided cables. That way you don’t see the coloured wires underneath when the larger braid slips.

Mann someone could make a nice profit by having an affordable PSU braiding service for the enthusiast modding community. That along with selling some 24pin extensions for people who don’t want to braid their whole PSU. If only I had the patience to do such tasks!

they should of used one sleeve for all wires on every cable. looks like hair. obviously they are a perfectionist they took the oem sticker off.

That doesn't work. If you do that then you will ALWAYS see the wires undernieth because the braid slips.
