ELSA Rolls Out Gladiac 998 GT SS (Save Power & Silent) Graphics Accelerator

Japanese NVIDIA partner ELSA unveiled a new graphics accelerator based on the GeForce 9800 GT. The Gladiac 998 GT SS (Save Power & Silent) falls into the new breed of 9800 GT cards that have been touting features such as energy-efficiency, some even abandoning the use of auxiliary PCI-Express power input. The clock speeds of this card stay below the reference speeds for 9800 GT, although kosher considering the number of companies that have done something similar to lower power consumptions. The core is clocked at 550 MHz (1375 MHz shader), while the 512 MB memory adheres to reference speeds of 900 MHz (1800 MHz DDR). The double-slot cooler is very quiet according to the company, with a rated noise output of 15 dBA. The card is yet to reach Japanese markets for a quote of its price.

never heard of elsa...and i don't think evga downclocked their 9800GT green edition, so i'd get that before this, though dual slot cooler is a plus

For some reason the partners were against renaming the 9800GT to GTS240. So now the 9800GT is going to screw up nVidia's naming scheme until the next round of GPUs hits.

Even at 550, the 9800GT is going to outperform a 9600GT and 9600GSO.

yea, it's only 50mhz slower than stock, saying a 9600GT would equal or outdo it would be like saying if the core was at 650mhz there'd be no need to buy a 9800GTX.

ok you right booth of you guys but i am always depend on performance per dollar theory , also i think this card can overclock much like 9600 do , so what you think guys now
