Thermaltake has just introduced the Element G case, for those of you still searching for the best case. Moulded in medium tower form factor, Element G offers maximum airflow using two massive 200x200x20 mm front and top mounted Touchcolor fans (600~800 rpm, 12~14 dBA), single 230x230x20 mm Touchcolor side fan (600~800 rpm, 13~15 dBA), one rear 140x140x25 mm TurboFan (1000 rpm, 16 dBA), and two more optional 60 mm fans. All fans have LEDs that glow in 6 different colors, controlled by the user's preference from a front panel multifunctional knob that is also used for controlling the fan's rotation speed. Internal space allows for a Micro ATX or a standard ATX motherboard to be installed as well as up to 7x 3.5-inch HDDs and 2x 2.5-inch solid-state drives for maximum expandability. Up to three 5.25-inch optical drives or fan controllers can be installed in front of the case. When empty, the Thermaltake model VL10001W2Z weights exactly 7.92 kg. No release date neither pricing information were mentioned in the official press release, but you can expect the Thermaltake Element G to become available very soon. Find more information here.

I do not. Six different colors? And still looks very plastic to mee... also a bit cramped.
Almost every TT case looks like a fail to me, so does this one :(

True. I got a TT Wing, its not even that bad, has enough space and all, but jeez the cheap look...

i mean, not the build quality. ofc the build quality will be... thermaltake's :nutkick:
still the design seems to be pretty good. huge, well positioned fans and little case, that could be a good aircooling case. About the six colors fans: i would simply put them on one and forget about it.

What's wrong with being able to select from 6 different LED colors? It's about time a case manufacturer did that.

All about price - but we need something special sub ÂŁ100 that's not too gimmicky. Multi coloured fans are silly tho

Love the internal design, but not so keen on the external design.
I really need a case with more than five 3.5in drive bays and this might be the way to go if the price is right.

Not bad at all. It reminds me of the CM Sniper, but a bit more refined and red LED.

+1 This is just a lame copy of the CM Storm Sniper (the fan controller, fan positioning and security) without the best features like the steel handles. Why does TT try to copy other chassis without innovating? The only good feature is the 6 led fan.

Inside looks very nice and like the big front fan. Don't like sidefans (any size) and outside is a bit flashy.

6 color leds, why not? Want NVIDIA green or ATI red, both in same package. Got some cold cathodes, match the case fans to that.

Dang all these new black cases coming out, teasing me to want one.

I think I found my case... As long as they pitch it as 79.99 or lower. =P

Doesn't look like it'd fit an 8800GTX, does it?

...Or two?

Thing that bothers me is the fact that there are parts painted red. You can't really get away from it. (Not that red is such a bad color or that it's difficult to change)

It does lack a few 5.25" bays, but it's not difficult to save up, buy 4 or 5 drives, and mount them inside the PC just to keep your favorite games in. (Always can mount a USB hub on the inside to supply more DVD readers)

i would also have a look at the xigmatek midgard case, based on the CM690. it may suite you.

i dont think it looks bad, the only things i didnt like very much are:

"2 optional 60mm fans" (they should have just left those two slots open for tubing, witch im sure the grills will come off easy...but 60mm fans reallY?)
and that side fan, that would have to be a mod job....its gosta go.

^^ I actually think that one feature makes sense to anyone who is into air cooling. There are dead spots around the GPU area and the 2 fans will help move the air from your GPU out of the case.

I quite like the whole design, but got to see one myself before I can comment on the build quality.

Interesting comments. I was not aware that people were not very happy with TT cases.

I have one of the original TT Armor cases and I think it's great. Tons of room, easy to work inside, 11 drive bays, lots of fans (including the 250mm side one), all aluminum construction, top accessable USB ports under a pop-up cover. All in all, a very solid case. The wiring job is a little messy, but that's not TT's fault. :D

I thought this one looked nice, but it's a tad small for my tastes.

how many optical drive's does one need really? 2 would be about the most you could actually use at the same time, anything more than that is a waste really IMO

Depends what you are doing. I only have 2 optical drives, but if you are doing CD or DVD replication on the unit you make want to have 6 or more.
