Depends what you are doing. I only have 2 optical drives, but if you are doing CD or DVD replication on the unit you make want to have 6 or more.

if that's the case why not not just get a replicator? they are like $300-$400 for a 9 disc copy machine here....

multiple HDD's i can understand but a PC with more than 2 optical's is a waste IMO

Or do what Maxishine does and have a load of drives filled with all your games that you can't find cracks for lol.

i would also have a look at the xigmatek midgard case, based on the CM690. it may suite you.

Seems nice, but I got my eyes set on either this, the NZXT Whisper, or the CM Storm Scout.

Thermaltake element G

I am surprised that no one caught that the dimensions and the inside of the case is a exact duplicate of the element S case with the side fan version that wasn't released to the United States originally. The G just has a new front end. What worries me is that while the original S case weighed in at just under 20lbs this case is less than 18 lbs. Now the thermaltake S was given less than stellar marks in most reviews for the case strength. Does this mean that the new G is even worse that the S box. And whats with the no tool less 5.25 and 3.5 drive bays in today's demanding market. Why seven drive bays for 3.5 in hard drives. Five would be plenty and allow one more 5.25 bay. I have a very nice fan controller with digital readout for 4 fans. I also have a chilltec CPU cooler that requires the control unit in a 5.25 bay, and two DVD-RW recorder/players mounted in an Antec 900 case. I cracked the top part of the case (dummy me) and have been looking at new cases. (black interior) The CM Scout fits my needs but has lousy cable routing. I also like the CM 922 HAF but no black interior. What was coolermaster thinking. Anyway Coolermaster is kicking some serious Thermaltake but# if you look at the new cases sold during the same time period on NEWEGG. If you intrested in the Element G case it is available through ewiz.com for $114.95.

The layout looks good to me, but there seems to be "too much" of everything else. The two fans along the PCI card slot area is pointless. Lian-Li had a better idea by making an adapter with a 120mm fan that blew air around the PCI and video card slots out of the vents at the same location.

Anyone got the CM 922 HAF case. If so how do you like it. Case looks good to me. I prefer black interior but I can disassemble case and paint it like I did my antec 900. Looks like good cable routing and has abundant 5.25 and 3.5 storage.

If your birthday is June 27 then we share a common day. Mine is also June 27th. Check out the inside temps for the Whisper. Seems it doesn't have very good cooling. Sort of in the middle of the pack. The scout was going to be my choice until I read about the top fan being mounted below the top which makes it impossible to use a CPU cooler much bigger than stock one without hitting the fan. It is however one of the coolest operating cases around. I finally ordered me a 922 HAF and when it arrives I'll strip it and paint the inside black
