The iPod Shuffle has gotten a major make-over as well. Gone is the USB Stick format, gone is the plastic. It has a metal casing with an integrated clip. It is the "worlds smallest MP3 player" and comes in 1GB only. The price of the unit is quite small too: $79. It can be pre-ordered right now, will ship mid-October and will come with a mini docking station & head phones.

Not so sure I like this design, wouldn't like the clip on the back, is it removable? The iPod nano is still the most stylish MP3 player for me.

Edit: Just looked at the other news, I would like to specify that I think the 1G iPod Nano is most attractive!

Its actually REALLY nice... but most ipod haters dont give a flying ****... Those of us that actually enjoy the shuffle... well.... love it..

I spend 90% of my time shuffling through my music. Why add the extra cost of the screen? :)

This is about that size.... ;) ever see these suckers? amazingly small.

the shuffle is thinner than the razr when its opened...

The cube is fatter than heck....

Total surface area, the ipod shuffle is probably less than 1/3 that huge cube's ;)

Theres many ways to declare smallest mp3 player, and having a screen does not make extra size not mean anything for it. ;)

you're right, the mobiblu cube does have larger overall surface area, but, the shuffle, with the clip(and you can't compare it without, because it's built-in) isn't less than 1/3. The mobiblu has been around for over a year, I'm sure a refresh is going to happen soon, either a change in design, or a change in capacity. I'd still prefer it to the shuffle. but, that's only if i had to choose between the two.

damn that shuffle is pimp.

the idea with the shuffles isnt to have all your music in one place. its your favorite playlist. and while the cube may be even roughly the same size its still huge in terms of normal space. an ipod video sized device is better then a small cube as its thinner, so it fits better in pockets.

Exactly. a cube is a fricking retarded design- absolutely useless when it comes to how you're actually going to use it.... while the shuffle clips right onto your shirt/pants/whatever you want.. and doesnt take much space since its flat rather than a bulkyass cube :)

good to see someone understands my logic.

actually im going to look at getting one of these. right now i have a sony cd player and nothing else. mp3 players/ipods/cd players are now banned from our school due to the number of hoodlums and rich kids (do the math). i need somthing i can easily hide. i just realised they dropped the 512mb and 2gb versions...thats no good. i guess they want u to get the higher end if u want more storage.

i like it flat. a cube is too hard to put in your pocket or something.

also, good for athletes/runners and stuff. especially with the clip. and the price....

Is this model made in sweatshops too? That would be a great feature!

Every new Ipod shuffle comes with the blood of the 6 year old that worked 20 hours a day to make it! Enjoy.

YES! :D Something you truely cant get anywhere else!

On a side note, atleast they have work... but I'm sure you'd prefer them not to have a job at all right?

We need to trade some of them for some of the lazy ass americans around here...

I have the iPod 5th Gen, and it's so easy to scratch. It looks nice and all, but it gets easily scratched. I even put a case, and still scratch from the case.
