BFG Technologies, a leading supplier of premium power supplies and 3D graphics cards, is excited to announce the new EX-1000, 1000 watt modular power supply. The EX Series ushers in a new approach to power supply design, utilizing BFG's proprietary Frequency Conversion Technology. Frequency Conversion Technology drastically improves low load efficiency by emulating a lower sized power supply. This allows the EX-1000 to remain at least 80% efficient, even with loads as low as 10% of the unit's maximum capacity. The EX power supplies have the lowest minimum load requirements and offer the best +5VSB efficiency on the market.

This remarkable performance netted EX-1000 the coveted 80 PLUS Bronze rating from www.80plusgold.org. The 80 PLUS performance specification requires multi-output computer and server power supplies to be 80% or greater energy efficient at 20%, 50% and 100% of rated load, with a true power factor of 0.9 or greater.

Of the 1627 power supplies currently certified to be 80 PLUS efficient, only 157 (less than 10%) are 1000W or greater, further distinguishing setting apart the EX-1000 from the competition. The EX-1000 was rated higher than the Cosair 1000W, an OCZ EliteXstream, a SilverStone OP1000, and two Enermax 1000W power supplies.

For complete specifications, please visit this page. The EX-1000 comes with a lifetime warranty, 24/7 tech support and is available now exclusively at select Best Buy stores and online at www.BestBuy.com for $199.99.

Guys this is actually pretty good for a 1KW PSU. $200 is great, especially for an "Instore price".

Only draw back is it's a 4 Railed PSU, Big Plus is that it has 6-Pci-E w/3 being +2 connectors. I'm actually considering this as my Tri-SLI PSU.

This is an example of a variable primary oscillator trigger to adjust the PSU`s wattage:rolleyes: lesser the amp. draw on the main load the lesser the power consumption
on the input AC, this is the first time ived seen a variable oscillator design PSU:twitch: once again im gonna add this product on my wishlist:rolleyes::laugh:

:respect:nice technological advancement BFG:rockout:

Edit: It makes me think on the other way around:laugh: PSU Overclocking guide 1000 watts to 1200 watts hard mod style, if its variable to adjust to the minimum, its not impossible for it to adjust to its maximum +10%

Right. But nobody said BFG invented this technology, although the use of the work proprietary probably isn't very appropriate. It's just a technology not widely used and currently not used at all for PC power supplies because it's not an easy design to engineer and the cost is high. A good deal of the components in the unit, despite being from reputable manufacturers like ST, On Semi and International Rectifier, are built to order for BFG's OEM because the demand is so low.

Only draw back is it's a 4 Railed PSU.

Number of rails is not a draw back. Initially, splitting rails was marketed with false claims and then more marketing was created to counter those claims and justify single +12V rails.

DITTO. Corsair makes one hell of a PSU. Not buying any other brands from now on I think...

I have this PSU running two 4870's in crossfire, DQ6 motherboard, Q6600@3.8Ghz, 8GB 1066mhz memory, four 1TB hard-drives running RAID10 and a total of 8 fans.
PSU runs flawlessly and quite. All four 12V rails @ 36amp each.
