A+ to G.skills :toast:

I wonder how well they overclock considering the stock speed is 2200? We need some reviews!

These sound much better than my PC3-12800 9-9-9-24 1.6v G.Skill sticks. Do want!

Wonder what timings these babies will do at 1600MHz. :)

There's been at least 3 kits on newegg to run at those speeds but at 8-8-8-24. Not sure "groundbreaking" is really accurate.

At 1.65V though? This is impressive, because that's the max recommended for i5 and i7 processors.

Of course at 1.65v, don't think memory that's specified above 1.65 is even produced anymore.
Here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820609499

This ram is made pretty much entirely to fool newegg customers and the like. Sort by 2200, then sort by lowest CAS, which is always listed according to the first number. In this case a 7, but the rest of the numbers suck.

Well you have to remember that 99% of press releases stretch the truth a bit. I personally think those speeds at that CAS and volts is very impressive. Maybe not groundbreaking to you, but groundbreaking to all those/us memory loving techies :)

I Agree Cold Storm, I love my tridents and I can easily get those over 1800mhz, but man I wish these were out when I grabbed them, as I would have spent a few jacksons more for these babies replete with fan!!!!

I picked up these from newegg when first released. They are hard to find now but do DDR3-2300 at stock timing and volts easy. Mine topped out at DDR3-2358 with 1.69v cas 8 I'll try these 7-10-10-X and see where they end up.

And so the pissing contest with the Hercules modules begins. G.skills has answered first and I expect Geil and Crucial to be next. They always did like bragging about clock speed.

Considering how much VTT you will need to run Uncore that high (I´m not 100% sure but uncore must be 2x mem clock, right? :) I have i7 not i5, haven´t studied i5 OC ) .. it doesn´t matter much if you have this ram or another with quality IC´s, cause high uncore volts allows you use higher vDIMM. Eg. even my crappy 1333 CL9 can run that speed (probably not at CL7, but I got 2133 CL9). Tough, my crappy is D9KPT. :D

Plus I don´t think that normal buyers have such good knowledge about OC to get this ram to nominal speed (that needs hm.. bclock at 220, if I´m correct? definetly not low..).

Nice PR stuff.. much less usefull as real memory.. tough, if it scales with voltage, it can be pretty interesting..

you still get ram that is designed for AMD with tight timing high voltages that speed and timings is great but id rather have lower timings for my system but its a system to system thing

I´m pretty sure they can do better timings than this on 2GHz.. If its able to do this at 2.2, it should be at least 7-8-8-8-24/28 if not better.. I guess they are some high binned Elpida Hypers.

All I had time for last night was to pop them in. Working a 16h day, so I'm not going to fiddle around with timmings before I fell asleep.. Ocing while tired isn't a great thing to do.
