SteelSeries Announces Market Availability of New Siberia v2 Gaming Headset

I played Counter_Strike professionally from 2004-2007 and let me just say the icemat (were icemat) siberias where my favorite headphones, and believe me, I tried them ALL. Comfort, topnotch, depth of sound amazing, besides I wore them for the MP3 player on the plane trips, so they are pretty baller. They were one of the only headphones I could distinguish above and below me easily.

However I must say I am skeptical on these, they seemed to have changed them and use different components, perhaps I will pick up a pair and let you all know how they sound

What's the difference with the old ones? I own a pair (Icemat) and it's exactly the same if my memory isn't failing.

Also I'm confused with the price: what's the difference between the $50 and $100 ones?? The microphone??

If you were to spend $100 on gaming headphone, I would strongly suggest bypassing all these companies and go with something like Sennheiser HD555 or Audiotechnica AD700. Both are far, far superior in terms of sound quality. Their sound stage can mimic surround sound better than any of these so-called "5.1 gaming headphone." Mic can be had for cheap so don't let the absence of built in mic dissuade you from getting good clean sound. Don't forget the 100 hours burn in time for these headphones above.

The headset has been selling from a few retailers for a while now... if I can spot one for around $70 on Black Friday I'm going to eat cafeteria lunch for 3 weeks and buy it.

The USB sound card. Older one (first iteration of Siberia V2, not Siberia "V1") had better specs.

I thought the USB sound card made the difference between the 90$ and $110 versions. I'm even more confused now.
