MSI has released its newest large-screen model-the X-Slim X600 Pro. Featuring the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the new Windows 7 operating system, and the ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4330 discrete graphics card with 512MB VRAM. The X-Slim X600 Pro perfectly integrates ultra-thin concepts, style, beautiful design and performance!

MSI Notebook Director Sam Chern points out that the X600 Pro follows the X-Slim's outstanding traditions of ultra-thin form, beautiful design lines, and power-saving performance by not only using the newest dual core processor and Windows 7, but also integrating fashion and practical design elements. Special application of MSI's exclusive Chiclet keyboard and an inlaid silver frame amplify the outstanding hardware performance and overall feeling of quality, providing consumers with the most flawless mobile computing experience available.

Absolute Quality: An Ultra-Thin Technology Masterpiece
Graceful frame; stylish pattern: The MSI X-Slim Series 15.6" high grade X600 Pro notebook computer follows the X-Slim Series use of graceful and nimble arched curves, with an overall thickness of only 2.5 cm and a total weight of 2.1kg with 6-cell battery! What's more, its exterior features an even greater degree of subdued elegance, with the upper lid treated with Color Film Print Technology and hand placement areas treated with a special, luminous scratch-resistant coating. The entire unit gives off a sparkling yet subtle luster. At the same time, the silver frame that encompasses the body accents the glittering silver shine of the chrome-plated power supply key, LED indicator light group and touchpad, outlining a smooth, concise and graceful design.

Featuring MSI's new, distinctive Chiclet keyboard: The X600 Pro is the first notebook computer to use MSI's new and distinctive Chiclet keyboard. An independent keyboard design and an increased degree of comfort prevent incorrect key strikes and reduce keyboard noise, providing a smooth keyboarding experience. Whether you are word processing or instant messaging, you'll have an unobstructed and free-flowing experience!

Beating Performance Limits: Breakthroughs in High Quality Audio & Video
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor: The X600 Pro uses the Intel CULV ultra-thin, power-saving processor platform that features characteristics like low power consumption and low heat generation. With the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, ultra-thin notebook processing performance has reached its highest level. In addition, the ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4330 high-grade 3D discrete graphics card with 512MB VRAM coupled with a 16:9, LED backlit glossy 15.6" display produces remarkable colors, detailed image quality, and extremely life-like, multi-layered visual effects.

HDMI Interface: The X600 Pro has a built-in HDMI interface that is capable of transferring 5GB of video bandwidth and that provides life-like and crisp image quality. When paired with a Blu-Ray player, high resolution HD images can be sent to a large-screen TV for viewing. With 4 SRS Premium Sound certified hi-fi speakers, watching movies or listening to music gives instantaneous pleasure.

High Speed Mobile Internet: Limitless and Carefree
802.11 b/g/n High Speed WLAN: The MSI X-Slim X600 Pro has built-in 802.11 b/g/n high speed WLAN for convenient and anytime wireless internet and worldwide communication. At the same time, use Bluetooth to link to mobile phones, headphones, microphones, and PDAs; free yourself from tangled wired networks and enjoy a high-speed wireless lifestyle.

WiMAX Module: What's even more special about the X600 Pro is its optional built-in WiMAX wireless internet module, which increases wireless notebook bandwidth service applications and opens up a new era of high speed, mobile broadband services. The X600 Pro's complete integration of this technology provides you with the perfect mobile digital lifestyle.

Ultra-Long Battery Life
MSI's Exclusive ECO Engine Technology: The X-Slim X600 Pro features the latest ultra-thin lithium polymer battery. When paired with Intel's ultra-thin, power-saving dual processor platform architecture, it gives ultra-long battery life. Also, MSI's exclusive ECO Engine technology lets you select from 5 different power management modes: Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Document, and Turbo Battery to automatically adjust display brightness, power, sleep settings, and processor performance settings to provide flexible solutions for battery life and effective extension of battery endurance.

I hate how all the companies are switching over to the chiclet keyboard. I still cannot get of my IBM Model 5.

Yep - I think calling it the X-Slim X600 is a little redundant also, but that's just me... Still looks like a pretty decent machine, but I question the necessity of WiMAX and believe its inclusion will drive this into a very limited market by way of a hefty price increase. I mean, why make a slim, Wi-MAX capable notebook (for business, presumably) and then throw in discrete graphics, HDMI, and four speakers for the entertainment guys? Go that route and you'll end up overcharging people in both of those markets.
