Sony has recently hosted a press conference in San Fransisco to show off it's brand new PS3, due for release on November 17th in the USA. There were two floors filled almost to the brim with PS3's and high-definition televisions, And CNET's Daniel Terdiman was lucky enough to see them all. There were around 200 to 300 reporters, analysts and video game industry professionals at the day long event. After spending an hour going over the games available at launch, the people attending the press event were able to test-drive the PS3's.
There were absolutely no problems with the PlayStation 3, and the online gaming interface works flawlessly. Users of the free PlayStation Network will be able to game online, chat with other users, download music/games, surf the web, and do several other things. The PS3 graphics were simply breathtaking, and left very little to be desired. PlayStation 3 also boasts a motion sensitive controller, which should be compatible with just about every PS3 game released. The only problem that Daniel saw with anything was the way the AI of some games was represented. He noticed that games were rendered in such high definition that anything not rendered in high definition stands out. Things like characters eyes were not rendered in high definition, giving them a ghoulish apperance.
