G.Skill Pushes DDR3 to 2500 MHz at CeBIT

We dropped by the G.Skill booth and they are showing off a few systems with their memory in it. While they have seven different configurations to display, only three of them are out each day, so they are rotated around throughout the show. All of them are interesting, but some more than others. First off there is a dual channel kit running at 2500 MHz in combination with an Asus P55 board and Intel i7-860 CPU. This memory is just for show and will not be sold in retail. Then there is a high capacity kit with six modules running at 2000 MHz with CL6 on an Asus X58 board, while the last system is very interesting as well, with 1600 MHz memory and a set CAS latency of 5-8-5. We did not get pictures of their 24 GB kits up and running, as they were not on that day. G.Skill is also displaying their Phoenix Sandforce SF-1200 based SSD.

Big freeking deal, I didnt have to ge to CeBit and my ram runs 2500, been that way for a few weeks....bout time they got off there bums and did something like this.

ITs rated 1150 5-4-4-12 does lower timings with ease.

Anyways.. im lazy... cant be bothered to set the settings.

I litterally see the benifits in games. IF you run a set of ram at 1600 the eye candy is no where near as nice as say Dirt2 with a 4+ghz proc and 2500mhz ram. IMHO there is a point other than benches

Oh and thats on top of those silly 24/7 read and write times...go run the everest bench and see if your 533/1066 even comes close

What's crucial (hehe, crucial RAM) here is the price, there's lots of stuff possible but if a stick is $500 it doesn't matter to the normal consumer.
I've also seen 4GB sticks on sale, but for prices that only a madman would pay.

I'm running the same ram is sneeky. I just got it yesterday and havent played with it much, but I know it's going to be insane ram when I was able to run 1900 Cas 7 with next to no effort. Craziness.

Wouldn't mind trying some DDR3 1600mhz at cas 5! That'd be nice. And DDR3 2000 at cas 6 also sounds yummy. DDR3 2500mhz came in at what timings?
