Mushkin Enhanced, a global leader in high-performance computer products, announces the availability of new Redline memory kits with black, 8-layer PCBs designed especially for gamers and enthusiasts.

This new Redline Series launches with DDR3-1600 CL6 memory kits for Intel's LGA1366 and LGA1156 platforms. In the near future, more kits with different specifications will be available.

Due to a large number of requests for black PCBs, we've decided to out fit all Redline Series Kits from now on with black PCBs. You can recognize them by part numbers with "black" at the end. These new high performance memory kits are available now.

Part Numbers:
  • 996805Black - 4GB (2x2GB) PC3-12800 6-8-6-24 1.65V Redline
  • 998805Black - 6GB (3x2GB) PC3-12800 6-8-6-24 1.65V Redline

they look cool. I'm sure with some tweaking and maybe alittle more volts it can be lowered to 6 like the others.
maybe they do it to keep voltage lower then 1.65v

nah like has been said in this thread they carry powerchip on them which dont like that timing. fit's set of mushkin powerchips capped out around 2000-2100 hopefully these are binned alot better than that

Argh, the age of shitty tRCD be upon us.

I look at it this way, I'd rather have 6-8-6 than 7-7-7. In my experience, CAS is the more significant number (within reason, anyway).

Except the 7-7-7 kit could probably drop down to 6-7-6, whereas I think you'd have a hard time dropping that 8 to a 7. They're just second class chips, and I hate that the 6-7-6 kits are actually being discontinued and replaced with this crap, so you don't even have a choice.

You do understand most 6-7-6 kits were samsung chips and the new 6-8-6 kits are powerchip right. Its just a new group of chips being used slow your roll and just shop around there are a lot of kits that still use other memory manuf. Able to run 6-6-6 and 6-7-6.

I don't get why you even said that. Yes I'm aware, and I'm telling you those chips aren't available anymore. If you can find them in stock on some obscure site grab them cause they're no longer manufactured. The whole low tRCD line has been discontinued by mushkin. You can still get ram that can do 6-6-6-18 at 1600mhz if you go and buy one of the few high end 2000mhz+ kits with tight timings and down clock, but even those are becoming endangered these days, not to mention much more costly than the native kits so it doesn't make much sense to do that.

Newegg still has kits and they were always expensive that's what highend ram does cost money ;)
