OCZ Technology Group, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) and memory modules for computing devices and systems, announces the Enyo Portable SSD, utilizing the next generation USB 3.0 interface. The Enyo features all the performance and durability advantages of an internal SSD but delivers portability with an external storage solution for on-the-go users who need to share files between various PC systems.

"We are continually searching for new ways to make the benefits of solid state storage available to consumers, and our new Enyo SSD is designed to make those benefits portable," said Ryan Petersen, CEO of the OCZ Technology Group. "The Enyo is a sleek external SSD that makes use of the increasingly popular SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface to make transferring anything from spreadsheets to high definition movies significantly faster than traditional media. Consumers never have to leave home without their valuable files again."

The OCZ Enyo offers an array of state-of-the-art features for prosumers looking to take advantage of the SuperSpeed 5Gbps port. In addition to cutting-edge performance, the Enyo offers superior power management and lower CPU utilization far surpassing the capabilities of external hard drives. With up to 260 MB/s read and 200 MB/s write capabilities, OCZ makes storage ten times faster than USB 2.0 speeds, while also being backwards-compatible with legacy ports.

Designed with ultimate portability in mind, the Enyo features a sleek, anodized aluminum housing and will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities. Enyo USB 3.0 SSDs cut the time it takes for fast transferring of HD video, graphics, and music, and are plug-and-play without additional external power requirements.

6GB - to a DVD in 20 seconds?
16GB - to a flash drive in 53 seconds?!?!
25GB - to a Blu-Ray in 70 seconds?!?! ?

And how the FFK does USB even connect to YouTube at all?

Symwave - Please GTFO the internet if you're not even going to BOTHER...

Even if these are READ values, they seem vastly implausible.

And for OCZ : Lying and/or Fraud are poor ways to promote a product. There are ppl on this earth who may consider intentionally including BS information on a press release to constitute both, and the NON-BS'ness of that chart is questionable at best.

That's just the way I see it...

whats wrong? there all correct values.... to transfer a 500mb video from you tube would only take 1.6 seconds with a 10 Gbps connection.

there putting the size into context for all those who dont know how big 1gb really is.

70 seconds to transfer 25gb, the size of a blu ray disk... not how long it would take to read 25gb from a blu ray disk.

and as for the speed if thats what your getting at.

260mbps read speed is the average maximum speed for most upper end SSDs

So you have a DVD drive that does 300Meg /Second?

And a 16Gig flash drive that does 301Meg / Second?

And a Blu-Ray drive that does 357Meg / Second?

did you even read what i said???

its putting the size into context......

a standard bluray disk is 25GB..... it takes 70 seconds to move 25 GB of data.

it does not say it can read a bluray disk at 357mbps it says it can move 25 GB of data in 70 seconds !

its describing to people how fast it is at moving 1GB compared to another device.

a bluray disk can transfer at 25mbps. ( not a real correct value just a guess/estimate)
this SSD can transfer at 260mbps.

now do you see what there getting at?

The table is still not right.
It shows 6GB takes 20 sec and 25GB 70 sec WTF?
Also what is the point of showing USB 3.0 max speed of around 400MB/s while this drive can only do roughly 200MB/s
You've got to love PR guys :)

The point being you won't get anything faster then what your PC can deliver. If you are downloading a file directly to this unit you are limited to your download speed or how fast your HD can transfer data if it's slower then what they rate their product.

Seems to be a lot of this "putting size into context" stuff going around lately. It certainly could be explained a little better. Sure they're trying to dumb it down for the average moron who might not understand how big 25GB is but that same average moron is the guy who will think if he buys this thing he will magically transfer a blu-ray movie from the disk to the HD in 70 seconds! So it actually ends up being us geeks who really understand it. They should put up the raw numbers and then give some well explained examples of what those numbers could be.

looks pretty good. Seems USB 3.0 is gonna push a lot of tech into cheaper better territory.
