What exactly makes them optimized for a 64-bit OS? Anyone know?

I've saw a laptop somewhere a couple of weeks ago making the same claim. It's a 'positive' way of saying that there is more ram in the kit than a 32-bit system can use. Well thats what I think is what they are saying.
