Well, I figured there would be some comments like "Holy sh** that's a lot of money". I have been on the other side, as well, wondering how they could possibly afford that. But, building this system has been some time in the making. I could have saved a bit of money, but this time around I was going for broke (literally).

Danger Den dual loop watercooling will be going in later. One loop for the CPU and one for the GPUs. The CPU will be TEC cooled, as well. But, that's about as far as I go with the mods. I may do a couple of other items, but I like no labels, clean wiring and a simple no nonsense look. It kind of has a cold look to it without a any LED light or cathodes, but, to be honest, I prefer a more subdued approach. And, as always, no two people's tastes are the same.

As for the expense, I have been wanting to build a good system when the next technology step arrived, so I have been putting away money for this since the beginning of the year. But, it is still much cheaper than any brand name with a similar configuration. $1250 on the video cards, $1300 on the 30 inch LCD monitor, $300 for the PSU, $250 for the motherboard, $750 for the CPU, $250 for the RAM, $130 for the case, $150 for the two 250GB SATA drives, $30 for the DVD-RW Lightscribe, and some other miscellaneous parts. So, about $4500 for everything. Compare that to the $6500 for a system without a monitor elsewhere.

As for the benchmark results:

3DMark06 - 16K or so at HQ settings, 11K at 2560x1600
3Dmark05 - 24K or so
3DMark03 - 60K or so
AM3 - 200K (with a single card - two actually slow things down with CPU overhead to about 190K)
CoH at 2560x1600 with all options turned up to max is 248 fps peak, 112 average and dips to 32 fps for a low.

.....TEC coolers on the cpu, man I wanna do that =(...Which tec cooler your gonna go for?

Gonna do any overclocking? Could reach 30k 05 scores and 25k 06 scores with your system ez I bet.

Fastest consumer-level system on the planet?

Are u kidding?

He has his CPU @ 3.7Ghz, when u could have it at 4.5Ghz.
He has his GPU's @ 650Mhz, when u could have them at 700Mhz+.

He scores ~16,000. Fastest known rig on the planet does ~26,000.

once he gets tec (better cooling) he has potential to be one of the fastest :p

Well, the components are the fastest available. It's just what you do with them. Now, if you are like Kingpin who was sponsored with few grand worth of LN2 by NVIDIA to break a WR (23,000 in 06 !! ), then that's fine. He also used a quad core and some volt modded cards. I am more interested in systems that can run the bench result over and over as well as game at that very same setting. Those suicide runs are not common, that's for sure. They are great publicity, but offer little else for the "normal" user. So, air cooled, the CPU does do 4.0 Ghz (tested that), but I am still an Intel OC newb for now. Been too long on the AMD side of the fence, so it will take a week or so to get comfortable with OCing this thing.

Best 24/7 usable systems are more like 17K max with a quad core. And, 900 points of the score are due to the CPU. So, the system is working as expected. Some of the really good OC crowd will get theirs to the 18K range with some good phase cooling.

He has all the right parts minus the cooling to have the fastest system on the planet. o_O King Pin is the one who currently holds 3dmark05 and 06 records but he accompished these recoreds with close to 5ghz overclock with liquid nitrogen.

VERY nice, "the dogs bollocks" as we say over here. I consider myself pretty well off but with me and several costly hobbies (cars, travelling the world and 2 daughters!) it's about justifying the spend, so really I am not bothered about the best just whats fulfills my needs without having to copromise, for Heavy thats this system and IMO it's should be admired!

Look, if he got waterblocks id give it appraisal, but its all stock!!!

Yup, watercooling is next. Since the GPU waterblocks are not available, yet, I held off on the system. It will be all watercooled soon, but, that is simple assembly as well.
