Koolance Intros its First GeForce GTX 460 Water Block

Koolance introduced one of the first full-coverage water blocks for NVIDIA's recently released GeForce GTX graphics cards. The Koolance VID-NX460 as it is called, is made of nickel-plated copper with an acrylic top and stainless steel film covering it. It measures 6.25" x 5.75" x 0.62" (15.9cm x 14.6cm x 1.6cm), weighing 1.5 lbs (680g). Being a full-coverage block, it cools the GPU, memory, and VRM areas of the card. Internally, the block channels water through a dense micro-fin array that increases heat dissipation area over the GPU, and a pass over the memory/VRM area. The acrylic top has holes from which common 5 mm cylindrical LEDs can be inserted giving the block a glow. The block includes a blue one. The VID-NX460 has G 1/4 threads, nozzles are to be purchased separately. It is priced at US $109.99.

If it can hit a 1000 MHz core with this it might equal a 480, since at 900 it equals a 5870. Though with the block price you could have just got a 470 and oc'd it for less.

All of the defined channels are so cool. I have always hated the look of Koolance full covers, but if they eliminated the cover and just had the acrylic top on it, that thing would be hot shit! Too bad I don't WC anymore.

Ek has one coming out, probably real good. I have a nickel block on my 470 and often wonder why, who cares what they look like, you never see the bottom of the card installed anyways.

I had two 3870x2s with Nickel acrylic EK full covers. They were hot shit. I like the thin grooves in this Koolance block though. Makes me feel as though it would perform a lot better than the EK's thick channels.

Even more then the looks, these cards are made for water.. My 470 after a few hours of gaming with everything on extreme , full load is cooler(40c) then it was idol with 70% fan. That's with an i7 in the same loop and only (1)3x120mm rad.

The 460 isn't made for water, though. under 75C at full OC and GPU load. But if you're voltmodding, yes.

One good looking GTX460 water-block. Too bad, cause I allready got a faster GPU.
