what a gimmick. if they think this product will sell more just because they have pictures of C.S.S figures going down on a knee with an M16 then they better think again.

asside from the added pictures - they dont even let you adjust the fan RPM. I can do that on my Zalman NC-1000. I love my NC-1000.

but saying that. anyone with a few power tools handly can drill a few holes on a thick sheet of aluminium and put in an Antec Big Boy 200mm or 120mm fan to give moar cooling n less noise. adding a fan controller is also very easy. but you probably wont have the extra usb ports depending how confident you feel in your electronic skills n ability to wire up a usb hub. mold/bend the aluminium around a metal pole to give it the curve on the edges where it sits up on the desk, some hot glue or plastic/metal adhesive to secure all the hanging bits down n off you go. probably wont cost you much to build at all. just a little effort.

it could make for a pretty interesting small project. I would have built my own laptop cooler but i dont have access to tools

Meh. This thing would do nothing but constrict the laptops air flow. As far as gaming it's not useful for me at all. The pic design on it is alright. Better then plain but with laptops being on it. It doesn't really matter what they look like. As long as its functional.

If you really want to beat the heat while gaming. Crank up the ac and wear a parka. lol.

how does this constrict the airflow?? the design is the same as almost 99% of other laptop coolers on the market. do they all constrict airflow too??? I think you misunderstand the function of these laptop coolers.

most laptops have small rubber feet underneath the chassis to stop the bottom of the laptop rubbing against the surface of the desk or whatever your putting it on - in this case, you're puttin it on the cooler. there should be a small 5mm-1cm gap in between the cooler n the laptop. n the cooler blasts cool air where cooling vents are normally located on a laptop - at the bottom of it.

so it doesnt constrict the airflow at all. Cool air still gets vented up at the bottom of the laptop where most of the components sit

Exactly. The placement of the fans is under mine so it would just blow air to the back of the laptop (not into fans push/pull) causing the air to come out from all side from underneath. My laptop has 3 large fans but there placed towards the back and not centered. All my components are separated so no air gets to HDD's/ram The little feet (rubber nubs) isn't enough for mine. Mine runs constantly hot pushing 100c 24/7.

its not supposed to push air directly into the laptop fans, its supposed to blow cool air on the back of the laptop where 99% of all intake vents are. the fans in your laptop still have to pull air through these vents and thats where the cool air the cooler is blasting comes in.

I doubt your laptop runs at 100'c 24/7 as it would have melted by now. my laptop has a thermal cut off point at around 80'c most are the same unless you run a hacked bios on your laptop n disabled the feature.

anyhoo. if your laptop hasnt got vents at the bottom then thats an issue with the design of the laptop. I would still use a cooler but its not going to be as effective as laptops that do have vents underneath

My laptop cooler pulled air away from the laptop rather than blowing cool air onto the bottom.

I know people whose laptops shut down per overheating while gaming, so something like this is very useful.
