I still have almost a tube of MX-3, looks pretty similar. Performed admirably, with one comment: they say it doesn't need that "break-in" period like Silver 5, but my MX-3 most certainly improved after a few months, within the same thermal environment.

I have high expectations of MX-4, go Arctic!

same here i have been using my mx-2 tube for almost 1.8years! half of it shot out like a torpedo when it got stepped on lol!

Still have a tube of MX-2 and MX3, why? Because when MX-3 came out I had to try it even though I had to tube of MX-2, and I was disappointed. Then I bought a tube of Artic Silver Alumina to use on other peoples machines, so I could save the expensive stuff for myself. I found myself using the Artic Silver Alumina on my own builds, because the much cheaper Artic Silver Alumina performs virtually identically(within 1°C of the MX-3 I have). I'm not even going to bother with MX-4 and paying the same price for 1/4 the paste.

based on shelf life IMO - if you buy tube of MX-4 that has 'gone off/bad' inside the tube, they will replace it

Still have MX-2. Otherwise i also liked AKASA ProGrade+ solutions. Very good performance.
For others i always used generics that came with coolers.

According to AC's site, the MX-4 is priced over the MX-2 and under the MX-3. Odd, but what the heck, I'm going for it!

the MX-4 is GOOD TIM 2c better then MX2 but its 1c more then mx-3 the main reason this TIM is good is due to the fct it has mx-3 properties but spreads well. I have a=had a review tube for weeks nd now that nda is lifte i can post results

spread? your heatsink is supposed to spread when you tighten it on, in less thats what your talkin about

spread meaning I couldnt apply it without it all globbing together and not staying where it was put. For those old schoolers that still tend to manually spread the paste, this isnt what they want.

Nice, seems it's 1C better than my current tube of Noctua NT-H1. Didn't like the dryness of MX-3, so didn't even try. Oh and the price wasn't nice either compared to MX-2. Got to get me a tube, although with this rate MX-5 will be out before I need one..

Well maybe not, seems like this came out just to please the MX-2 fans. From "liquid" to "solid" was too big of a jump.

Sadly I would go and buy MX2 over the 3rd variant. Cheaper, easier, and does equally if not better.

Going with expensive TIM has really limited return on investments. Seeing a 5C drop for $20 more is worth it to some, but not to others.

Sweet I never even used the MX-3 or knew it was out because I have MX-2 still and IC Diamond Carat 7 which is the best to me.
