BenQ has finally released its talked about 120 Hz 3D-ready display, the XL2410T. This 23.6" display is best suited for 3D and gaming in general. The high refresh rate ensures each 3D plane is given a 60 Hz refresh rate, ensuring minimal flicker when viewing 3D video or playing games. The high refresh rate is complimented with 2 ms (GTG) response time. Apart from that, the display uses a TN-panel with LED backlit illumination. The screen is full-HD (1920 x 1080) capable, with 10,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and 300 cd/m². Display inputs include DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub. The stand allows height and tilt adjustments. Set to reach stores in Europe first (in October), pre-orders opened, priced around €350.

I'd really like to see how these 120Hz panels play in 2d FPS games with that refresh rate.
I think its one of the first FULL HD 3d screens ? Samsung and others have 1650 screens with 3d.
Pricing seems ok and BenQ screens have a pretty decent opinion from what Ive heard.

3d gaming = fail, I mean what kind of grunt are you going to need to run Crysis and Metro 2033 and similar games at a constant 120fps?

3d films on the other hand is something that interests me though not on such a small screen. So this is pretty much useless imo :shadedshu

Whats the point when you wont get anywhere near 120fps in gaming so the refresh rate is pointless anyway, any 60hz lcd is fine.

Manufacturers are really jumping on the 3D bandwagon; i tried it at a Panasonic store fucking rubbish everything looks like its layered and that's it and this was with the Blu Ray player and the special glasses not the run of the mill rubbish cinema stuff.

i own the acer 3d monitor and it's amazing
everyone knows 3d gaming is crap, but 120hz monitor is great for online first person shooter lovers as it packs ridiculously small response time, giving you an important edge over the enemy :D. furthermore the 120hz image is way smoother, which is visible even on desktop

I just wish they would hurry up and start making 120hz panels at, at least 1920x1200 but preferably above. I know it will take a while to get most games running at 120fps (although i play many source engine games so 120fps is easy) but each monitor normally lasts me at least 2 or 3 graphics cards so i am sure that the AMD 8870 or nvidia gtx780 could get a nice solid 120fps at 2560x1600 :D

It won't flicker. Even if the GPU is generating just 45 fps, it is still giving out 120 frames to the display per second by sending over the same frames many times.

Your GPU is generating just 1 frame per second (Aero) if you're reading this, yet the same is refreshed to your display at 60 times per second. You don't see your screen flicker.

World's first 120Hz LED PC Monitor? Finally!

With regards to the 3D aspect, I'm not that fussed on it either, but I doubt we will see someone release a 120Hz monitor without including 3D support. But ultimately it shouldn't bother you too much since you don't need to use 3D to get 120Hz. It will be interesting to see how this one performs, if it's decent enough, it should easily become the no. 1 choice for a PC gaming monitor.

Yes, using any of the open 3D display standards. Blu-ray 3D is not supported by any ATI Radeon GPU, and there's a hardware limitation to that (no HDMI 1.4). NVIDIA 3D Vision is anyway not supported. So this as a display is neutral to any 3D standard, it's your GPU that isn't.

Yeah, at this rate I guess those two card will be out by the time somebody starts selling a 24" or 25", 120Hz, 1920x1200 non-TN, LED-backlit screen with display port...

I have a samy RZ2233 120hz monitor and I like it for playing CSS, which my PC can drive over 120fps constantly. Its nice and smooth, even for desktop use, mouse movements are smoother.

That said, it is a TN panel, and I have a MVA panel besides it and I find the MVA viewing angles, backlight bleeding and adjustable stand destroy the sammy. However the BENQ has an adjustable stand and LED backlighting, so only the viewing angles would be crap, so it should be a decent monitor.

Bring on the reviews!!

120hz is needed to generate 3d display I thought. The way I read it, it halves the refresh rate to 60hz...maybe I am reading it wrong.
