Samsung Electronics America Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, today announced the new NF310 netbook, which expands upon Samsung's signature style and premium performance for use at home, in the office, or on-the-go. The new NF310 emphasizes Samsung's continued dedication to innovation in ultra-portable computing, and establishes a new benchmark for premium features with the inclusion of an Intel Atom Dual-Core processor and a stunning HD display.

"Samsung netbooks are a favorite among consumers not only for their innovative design, portability, and the premium features we strive to offer while maintaining affordability," said Todd Bouman, director of product marketing at Samsung Enterprise Business Division. "In addition to the stylized aesthetic consumers have come to expect from Samsung, the NF310 builds upon the success of previous netbooks and offers a more robust experience through the improved Dual-Core processor and HD display."

Premium Portable Performance

The ultra compact NF310 features an all-new Intel Atom N550 Dual-Core processor providing up to 50 percent faster performance than in previous netbook models. The efficient and powerful combination of the new Dual-Core processor and HD display make the NF310 an ideal choice for technology enthusiasts. It also boasts battery performance of more than 9 hours, making it perfect for work or play on-the-go.

Whether at home or away, the NF310 makes portable entertainment an eye-pleasing experience. It features a crystal clear HD LED backlit display and offers stunning 720p quality, allowing users to comfortably view detailed images of family and friends or stream HD video.

Enhanced Usability and Connectivity
The NF310's styling also makes it a must-have device. A smooth, contoured clamshell exterior and Titan Silver color highlight the NF310's sleek appearance, while a roomy island style spill-resistant keyboard and large touchpad with gesture support make the NF310 conducive to comfortable computing on-the-go.

Samsung's Fast Start feature, which easily allows the user to put the NF310 in an advanced state of sleep, enhances user satisfaction by reducing power consumption while the device is not in use. The user's session can then be restored in as little as 3 seconds.

The NF310 also boasts Samsung's USB Sleep & Charge technologies. These features allow users to quickly connect and charge cell phones, MP3 players or other USB-powered device even while the NF310 is powered off.

Samsung's Support Center also ensures that data content can stay safe, or can help troubleshoot any particular problem. Accessible with a keyboard shortcut, the Support Center helps users manage their system settings or can setup a tech-support web chat. Samsung's Back-up & Recovery Solution also allows users to create and restore back-ups of system data on the device, or on a network or removable storage device.

Lastly, the NF310 can quickly connect PC-to-PC over ad-hoc WiFi connections, simply and easily. For the ultimate in easy home networking, the AllShareTM feature allows users to share and play videos, photos, and music across a range of Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) certified devices, including TVs, cameras and handsets.

impressive looking netbook. I've always been a fan of Samsung products. This is the first one I've seen w/ a dual core (not that they've not been out before but I don't follow them closely haha) so that's sweet especially w/ a 9+ hr battery life. I wonder if the battery life is w/ the stock battery or if there's a separate battery that needs to be purchased w/ more cells in it???

i think their exaggerating on the battery life a little too much...

in the last 3 days I must have read over 10-15 netbook reviews and in a few of the reviews the netbook came with a N455 instead of the N450 and when they tested the N450 up against the N455 the N455 in battery life tests - the N455 consumed a lot more power then its predecessor.

so here they either must have used a more powerful battery - and sold it on as an optional spare part or just told a load of BS.

Most netbook manufacturers are never really clear on the battery life and IMO they ONLY quote the length of time the battery lasts when the netbook is in idle mode and lets face it - nobody is going to leave their netbook idling in the corner for 8-9hrs and not touch it at all like its some sort of million dollar antique/relic.

the battry life they quote is never about real time usage. the average battery life of a netbook is about 6-7hrs, VERY rarely will you get a standard netbook thats able to get over 7hrs battery life with just websurfin. however if they did use a more powerful battery to get these results then the netbook with a shittier battery then the company are douchebag scum.

so 9hrs+ my arse UNLESS of course they used a more powerful battery.

Good netbook, but only 1GB of RAM and stupid Win7 Starter. Take the same netbook and load it with 2GB of RAM and Win7 Home Premium and you have a win combination. Slightly higher price would justify that easily imo...

With Zacate and Bobcat netbooks only a couple of months away, these are some extremely short-lived «"high-performance"» netbooks.
