Axle took its own sweet time coming up with a Radeon HD 6800 series graphics card lineup, the company released its HD 6870, which sticks to AMD reference design, like every other HD 6870 out there, at the moment. Based on the second-generation DirectX 11 compliant GPU architecture by AMD, the HD 6870 features 1120 stream processors, and makes use of 1 GB of GDDR5 memory over a 256-bit wide memory interface. Display connectivity include two each of DVI, mini-DisplayPort, and one HDMI. Power is drawn in from two 6-pin connectors. Axle's HD 6870 also uses AMD-reference clock speeds of 900/1050 MHz, and is expected to be priced like almost every other card in its league, around $240.
