NVIDIA Corporation, the worldwide leader in programmable graphics processor technologies, today announced that the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) presented the Company with the "Most Respected Public Fabless Company" award during the annual FSA Awards Dinner on Thursday, December 7, 2006 in Santa Clara, Calif.

The industry's "Most Respected Public Fabless Company" award is designed to identify the company garnering the most respect in the industry in terms of its products, vision, and future opportunities. On-line voting took place to allow members of the semiconductor industry, including semiconductor companies and partners, to cast a ballot for the public fabless companies they most respect.

"Being chosen as the Most Respected Public Fabless Company for the second time is a prestigious honor and demonstrates NVIDIA's outstanding reputation in the industry," said Jodi Shelton, co-founder and executive director of FSA. "This is the 11th FSA award for NVIDIA and we are thrilled to recognize the company once again for its accomplishments."

Has anyone else ever heard of the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA)? Does anyone really care about the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA)?

Just curious because I doubt this award means much to any consumers, maybe not to anyone but Nvidia? I don't think Nvidia would win many awards for end-user customer support. They've made some good products over the years but they aren't on my list of preferred suppliers, that's for sure.

i think it's impressive it's a discrete graphics company over a cell phone based company or whatnot (qualcomm would be pretty respected in my book, for example), which brings attention to us, the gamers. yay for all of US winning!

Most people don't know/care about cell phone companys.. they care about the providers...

Very few people know who Qualcomm, or foxconn would be.

Most people would know, motorola, palm, LG, maybe samsung and sony...

But fabless..

WHY is this an award?
