SAPPHIRE Technology, the world's largest manufacturer and supplier of graphics systems based on technology from AMD has just announced its first mainboard based on the exciting new APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) architecture from AMD. As a result of close collaboration with AMD, SAPPHIRE will introduce the SAPPHIRE Pure White Fusion E350M1W mainboard through its Global channel - heralding a new generation of low-power, fully featured PC solutions.

The SAPPHIRE Pure White Fusion E350M1W is a mini-ITX mainboard featuring the E350 (Zacate) APU from AMD. Zacate is the first generation of APU - a combination of CPU and GPU computing technologies onto a single die to improve the performance of both visual and data-intensive tasks. For the first time it combines high-performance serial computing and parallel graphics processing cores on a single chip. The SAPPHIRE Pure White Fusion E350M1W also uses the companion Hudson-M1 (A50M) Chip from AMD.

The graphics engine of the SAPPHIRE Pure White Fusion E350M1W delivers a full DX 11 feature set over a choice of three display outputs of which any pair can be used concurrently. Maximum resolution is 2560 x 1600 over the D-Sub, and 1920 x 1080 over HDMI or the DVI-D output. The SAPPHIRE Pure White Fusion E350M1W can comfortably display HD video content, and will accelerate content in the latest web browsers and Microsoft Office environments as well as in specific supported applications.

Up to 4GB of system memory can be installed, using industry standard 1.5v DDR3 (1066/800) un-buffered SO-DIMMs. Hard drive and optical drive support is provided by five SATA III ports with 6Gb/s transfer rates, and there is an additional eSATA connector on the rear panel with 3Gb/s transfer rate for external drive access.

Extensive I/O connections include eight USB 2.0 ports ports supporting transfer speeds of up to 480Mbps (four on the rear panel plus four by onboard header), plus two USB 3.0 ports on the rear panel (backward compatible with USB 2.0), supporting transfer speeds up to 4.8Gbps. One Gigabit Ethernet connection is provided by a Marvell 88E8057 Gigabit controller, and Bluetooth support by an Atheros AR3011 all-CMOS, single chip solution compatible with Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. The on-board Audio support includes 8-channel High-Definition audio and optical S/PDIF output.

In addition to all the on-board features, the SAPPHIRE Pure White Fusion E350M1W has two expansion slots. It has one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 connector with x4 bandwidth, designed for use with an expansion VGA card, and one general purpose Mini PCI-Express 2.0 x1 connector.

Despite the huge feature set, the SAPPHIRE Pure White Fusion E350M1W features very low power consumption. Its very compact mini-ITX (170 x 170mm) format is ideal for integration into small format or embedded systems. It supports Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems for a new class of performance from highly integrated systems.

A) tell me that it's not a bluetooth dongle using a usb what im seeng on the I/O picture.

B) why 2 different colours of sata if they are all III?

C) empty space on a MINI itx board? :O

D) why only 1080p over HDMI & DVI-D?

A) may look like it, maybe soldered ?

B) two diffrent types of connectors, they got a good offer on both, but cudnt choose the color ? does it matter?

C) no NB, 79MM^2 die size, so-dimm, YES! time for fully spec microatx gaming boards, out with E-ATX and in with ATX for it.
M-ATX instead of atx... hopefully! :p

D) I doubt it is limited to it, HDMI's official specs is max 1920x1080, alltho usually can do 2560x1600, with max of 5 m quality cable and 3m low quality cable.
most people just think, it got to have 1080P, they dont understand 2560x1600 is higher :banghead:

I awnt a board with dual gigabit nics based on broadcom so i can make myself a router without using a frigging expensive intel quadnic!

This looks like a very nice little board depending on price, although i dislike the SO-DIMM memory.

As things stand if i had a use for one i would have to go with the gigabyte GA-E350N-USB3 even if i like the sapphire colors more the use of SO-DIMM slots puts me off, mainly as i like to have components that can be swapped around different setups in the future.

What would you pick this sapphire or the gigabyte one below?

LOL the HS/Fan combo reminds of the original Pentium coolers(I have one around here somewhere) and I am talking Pentium 1 here.
It makes it look a little dated, but hey if it does the job and is reasonably quiet so be it.

Asus board seems to be the best. However, we do not know exactly how much is it.

Currently, INTEL ATOM D510MO BOX around ~$80. Even it look good and have a lot of cool feature but if it is expensive, I will looking for something else instead.

I hope Asus board price less than $120.

A) tell me that it's not a bluetooth dongle using a usb what im seeng on the I/O picture.

B) why 2 different colours of sata if they are all III?

C) empty space on a MINI itx board? :O

D) why only 1080p over HDMI & DVI-D?

A) It is not using a USB slot. Specs stated 4 USB 2.0 ports on the back, which can be seen. That is a Bluetooth transceiver and I don't think it can be removed.

B) They are all SATA III. I have no clue why they used two different colors. Maybe that is just the color of the side and top mounted SATA ports before attaching them to the board.

C) If you are talking about the spot I think you are, it is intended for you to put a PCI-E X1 Wi-fi chip in there. They move stuff away to address clearance and heat issues.

D) This is market toward HTPC users which means it will be attached to a TV. Maximum broacast, Blu-Ray, and standard HDTV resolution stops at 1080P. That limit has nothing to do with this board and everything to do with the current set of HD product's maximum screen res.

the 1080p limit is because the onboard video is single link only.

really that means 1920x1200 as the max res, but thats enough for 99% of users who'd get an ITX system.

The CPU cores, have they changed to bobcat? Or are they still using k10 arch?

I love how you have come to this conclusion based on pre-production information. The only reviews online with comparisons from the Bobcat is the Zacate from a while back. A chip who's drivers for the GPU have not been completely sorted out running on a test bench box. And yet the Turion Neo II only manage to beat Zacate in CPU intensive task by a slim margin most of the time.

Trust me, the finalized Bobcats will be faster and more energy efficient than any other AMD chip in the same class from K10.
