Roccat Studios introduced its latest offering for gamers, the Kova[+] mouse. This ambidextrous rodent uses a symmetric "v-shaped" design that gives the same amount of grip as a right/left-hand crafted mouse. It features 7 physical buttons, but using the EasyShift[+] technology, can perform 14 actions. Tracking is care of a 3,200 dpi ProOptic R2 optical sensor with 1,000 Hz polling rate. The entire top portion and scroll wheel are rubberized for extra grip. The mouse can provide LED-based multicolor illumination, and a beeper to alert you of [accidental] button profile changes, sensor resolution changes, etc. Roccat's mouse is priced at 50 EUR.

3200dpi??

Looks interesting...

But I keep wandering...How much difference does it realy make over an "ordinary" 1000dpi laser mouse?? It's just like 100fps over 320fps debate...

It make difference in sales, since most people are probably looking at dpi as basic evaluation :)
But 3200 is still can be somewhat useful.

Not always depends on how hard or soft the rubber is.

Although i wish they had put notches into the wheel for extra grip.

Kinda interested in this one has i have had enough of Razer and their cheap plastic and other issue's.

For a gamer the difference can be huge. Specially in FPS games. Try playing Modern Warfare 2 with a mouse that has DPI switching on the fly capability and play in different settings to see the difference.

Currently using 2000dpi and its not fast enough for SC2 imo anymore. Looking at 3200dpi now :D

Agreed, my Sidewinder X5 has a low speed, medium, and high (2000dpi). Whenever you're in the UH-60 in Bad Company 2, switch to high, zoom in, and dominate. Good for tanks as well. In some games, however, it's totally useless. For example, in Assassin's Creed 2, turning the DPI up just makes the camera swing around quickly. So it all depends on what you'll use it for.

I want to say, you use it as dpi sensitivity

Yeah, basically you're changing the sensitivity on the fly by changing the resolution. It's more accurate to use a higher DPI for higher sensitivity then to just stretch out 800DPI.

I know guys that owns at Counter Strike with track-ball mouses, so.... ;) (but now they are using standard 600dpi mouses, just to show that the skill is much more important than those ubber dpi settings....)

Yeah, you can own people with awesome skills and stuff, but having a good mouse is a good feeling you know. I use to kill people with a £5 Logitech... but it felt so much better to have my current Sidewinder X5, and I am looking at something better yet (assuming that people will buy the X5 off me)
