Today Logitech unveiled the Logitech Wireless Mouse M515, delivering easy navigation from soft surfaces like your sofa, bed or a pillow. The Logitech Wireless Mouse M515 features a sealed bottom case that makes gliding on fabric easy and worry free, and a hand-detection sensor so the mouse is only active when you want it to be.

"Millions of people are connecting their computer to the TV, and the M515 mouse was built to address the unique needs of this experience," said Marcus Harvey, General Manager UK & IRE, Logitech. "As technology evolves and consumers' habits change, Logitech continues to develop navigation devices that make it easier to control and access the things people love to do in the digital world."

With its hand-detection sensor, the Logitech Wireless Mouse M515 is active only when you're gripping it - the mouse is only active when you want it to be, and it stays asleep when you don't. A sealed bottom - so fabric fuzz won't collect in the sensor opening - gives you cursor control no matter what surface you're using your mouse on. And the easy-gliding base makes mousing around on couches (and blankets, cushions, clothing, carpets, even desks) easy.

Also featuring effortless Logitech Hyper-Fast Scrolling, the M515 mouse lets you coast smoothly through long blogs or social networking feeds. And you can switch to click-to-click mode when you need more control.

Logitech's newest mouse also offers up to two years of battery life, helping you save time and money by eliminating the need to change batteries frequently. And, you'll enjoy plug-and-forget wireless connectivity thanks to the tiny Logitech Unifying receiver. The receiver stays in your laptop so it's less likely to be lost, and gives you a reliable connection with virtually no delays or dropouts. Plus, you can easily add other Unifying-compatible mice and keyboards to the same receiver.

Pricing and Availability
The Logitech Wireless Mouse M515 is expected to be available in Europe beginning in April for a suggested retail price of £49.99.

I wonder if you did that on purpose!

Seriously, its good seeing logitech shipping every mouse with that smoooth hyper fast scrolling. I always thought before I got the g500 that it would be gimmicky but boy was I wrong! Very practical when browsing the net or long pdf files. I can't go back now. Haven't had sore fingers for ages! I wonder why other companies haven't copied that.

yeah but keep in mind an HTPC mouse gets used a fraction of the time as a desktop
mouse. it automatically turning off to safe power when not in your hand probably has
a bigger effect. Plus again, i'm sure the estimate is not based on the amount we use
a mouse ;)

still, i am also very interested in this - i think the mouse itself is too small but we'll see... maybe i'll finally be getting rid of the wireless trackball :)

I own a Logitech M305 which is no longer made, and it is a great mouse, hot sync's like a champ, and get 55+ hours of battery life, it also looks the same -1 the button behind the scroll wheel, if this is half the mouse it will be amazing!!!!!!!!!!!:rockout:

In my experience with logitechs nano receivers (unifying or not) around 3-5 meters is the best you really get in a home environment.

I am far more impressed by that 3 years battery life than I am living room usability. :p

Battery life is estimated based on an office user for logitech, so that 3 years is likely if you use it for an hour or two a day only (EG, someone clicking a few times then spending 10 minutes typing and not using the mouse)

Who in gods name makes a switch in that place:confused:

If you make the bottom smooth, MAKE IT SMOOTH!

let me just move the mouse to the lef.... WHY U TURN OFF ON ME ROGITECH MOUSE!

Well i have the v220 well 2 of them and both are good for 5 1/2 -6 feet battery lasts around 6-8 month Was not really counting and even when the red light was showing i had a good month still lol..

I had one of mine replaced a little while back as it was faulty and they just sent a new one no questions really and with a 3 year warranty ( at least on the v220 ) who can complain.

WOW they made the bottom smoother sure they made the USB part smaller but they did that ages ago which tell ya the truth are both like the v220.

Never used either of mine on a mouse mat and worked great. Only reason i had to send one back was due to bad workmanship but they step up if that is ever needed.

EDIT: on the v220 they have a on off switch. Therir great and small mouses for a latop or a HTPC is the distance is not to great for them and if the new ones work even better like WOW it's a absolute must.

Only bad thing about them what i can think of is the middle button it's stiff but maybe they fixed that by now ummm.

I already use my Logitech ex100 mouse exactly like how they describe this ones use....It would be nice to get a little more distance though....15 feet or 3 meters isn't that great...If they can get the price to no higher than $30 US dollars I'd buy it
